***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

@PlacidCasual i had that set, mixed into a metric ton of Lego that has been added to by generations since but the special base plate was used for everything forty years ago!
It was pleasant evening last night sorting the parts out of a couple of mixed sets. A simple but satisfying build with my youngest. She liked the idea that it was Daddy's second oldest set and over 40 years old.

Thanks for that, I go past Rushden relatively often, I might make a detour and look. Also how did you find the Brickz Museum? I did the Pixel Bunker the other weekend which was ok but quite a few broken machines and the Film Museum sounds quite expensive at first glance, was the Lego museum worth the money?
Not been yet. Might go in a couple of weekends time, as the good lady wants to go MK as she wants some bits from IKEA.

A finishing touch to Endurance, Shackleton's Lifeboat:

Daughter wanted to play with the lego castles at the weekend. Also used it as an excuse to build Majisto’s Magical Workshop I've had for a while.

Got the retired blacksmith set to build at some point, and want the medieval village as well.

Moved on to building the Senna McLaren first.

Got to love those classic sets....

I've got a bricklink designer programme forest stronghold to build. The medieval blacksmith and market are great builds.

There's a new creator 3in1 horse knight 31168 castle coming this year too based on the one in the 31161 Medieval Dragon's box art.

Since the uk create a minifigure beta went live it's loads easier to spec and buy castle / forestmen minifigs too including the wolfpack torso now available.

I got my son the grey one on the left that folds into a cube. It's a cool set but I'd say is 50/50 if the hinged bits fall off when I move it, is yours the same?

I think they are supposed to come off so you can have it as 3 seperate buildings, but yes it makes it a bit fragile!

Ordered a couple of the old wolfpack sets off ebay over the weekend, and been building a few more of my old smaller castle sets. Tempted by the forest stronghold off ebay.

Christmas present finally built, my first Lego build since I was a kid, really enjoyed it, want to get a light kit for it now, I can see why this could get addictive!, already looking at the Lego Bowser!

Nice. I have the 90cm MOC version waiting to be started. It came in a large box, the PDF instructions are in 15 separate files and the bags are not numbered. Gulp!

My current build is a Ferrari GT car, it's knock off. I've only ever had the odd bit missing from the China sets. Usually a random selection of extras are included (I recent bought 40+ storm troopers to fill every seat in the At AT and each bag has an extra hand)

The first Ferrari set had a number of bags missing, too many parts missing to collect and muddle through. Decided to buy another set and confine the spares to the box of spares. 2nd set I've opened and even that one has a couple of parts missing! Fully accept this is par for the course when going down the knock off route but I've never had this before. Fortunately, I managed to use other parts to keep going.

It's the instructions, they're crammed into a few pages as possible to save on print costs and they aren't always the clearest compared to lego official instructions.
