***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

My son has a Lego Build it youtube channel.

Only little videos but he enjoy them a lot. Feel free to check out his videos.

I kind of feel like everyone else is doing this, so you'd be daft not to really. Otherwise you'll always end up with the common minfigures.

Why not just have a ocuk swap shop :D

I got one of these today for my son out of curiosity, I think the list of figures in the set are dull as, especially after browsing some characters from older sets. Ebay seems to be about £2.20 delivered to chose the one you want so may as well just do that?

Its been asked in the past about swapping minifigures through the forum and decided that it is actually against the rules. :(

Yeah we have checked with the dons previously and as they don't fall into any of the MM categories they understandably said no.

My Curiosity Rover arrived :). I've decided CUUSOO is brilliant. Both the Mech and the Ghostbusters sets will be coming my way when released.

I think only the common ones are that cheap. If you try to buy the rare ones they're £5+, sometimes even £8+

I had some more success today in tesco, where I found a display with 4 unopened boxes so had a feel through and picked out 9 bags I thought were certain figures and ended up with just 1 dupe, so pretty happy with that. So far I have bought 14 packs and had 2 dupes total. Just need 3 to finish as my friend is swapping me a dupe for taco man, which I don't have yet.

I have also ordered the 76013 batman and have managed to secure a Benny minifigure....

Benny? How?

SPACESHIP!

He is in the Sea Cow set, which looks amazing, looking forward to payday to get that bad boy!

If you can find the 850423 set (Minifigure Presentation Boxes).. you get the blue spaceman included. Its not exactly Benny, but close enough without paying ridiculous money on ebay, buying the seacow or waiting until august...

I might still buy the seacow, but wanted a Benny figure to make one of those Lego Minifigure Ikea Ribba frames for the Lego Movie minfigures.

Is it bad that I want the Sea Cow mainly for the double decker couch? And hope the friends that are visiting tomorrow want to go see the Lego Movie so I have an excuse to see it again? :D

My Mars Rover arrived yesterday. Great model. Far to fragile to be a toy, so definately a display piece, but another brilliant CUUSOO set. Can't wait for the next few.

Made the mistake of going to the Metrocentre lego shop today, forgot we are in half term, dear god I was on the brink of suicide and I was only in for two minutes, I propose we ban all children from lego shops :p

My curiosity turned up today, just finished building it, what a lovely model! Really loved the way that it was designed the reactor is inspired!

It came in two days without paying next day delivery so you should get it pretty quickly!

Was going to head down today. Fear of God is now in me!

Anyone use the Milton Keynes Lego shop? Is it a decent size, the one in Bluewater was a bit dissapointing. I'm off with my son for a few days and Legoland isn't open this half term :(

Might have a run down to MK tomorrow. Does it hold stuff like the Deathstar?

I was there today, they had a mint box of both Deathstar and Super star Destroyer. I have seen several examples of them in Lego shops where the boxes have been in very poor condition.

Its the time they stay there due to the price. Lots of people pick them up, admire them, look at them, drop them, put them back, and then buy something cheap.

Thanks, I will phone them up and take a run down there. I'm not that fussed about the box being immaculate. It will never get sold because it will a toy and likely in 5 years have 20% of the bits missing :D

What is it with the large Starwars sets in Lego shops, always look like they have been thrown down some stairs...twice.

Yeah as said, they are probably the most popular sets so get handled a lot but the price mark up on Star Wars must put a lot of people off. I have found it's a waiting game with SW lego. Buy just before the set if is about to be discontinued, the big supermarkets then tend to try to clear them out.

Its a gamble but I have picked up some great discounts that way but I also missed out on a few :(
