***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

sorting through about 50kg of loose Lego that I've bought so far this year from random places, probably only spent £150 on it as well which is stupid cheap :/

Building up all the sets i have to flog on to buy better sets...there is no easy way of sorting that much lego!

I'm sure you could use a mindstorms kit and create an automatic lego sorting machine!

I know I've already asked this and received one, but does anyone else have a minifig roller derby girl going spare that I can buy please?

Why is the lego store in general so uncompetitive? Do they price match at all?

The big stuff like the Death Star is as good a price as you can find but the other stuff in the £20-100 range they are so uncompetitive.

I'd guess that as they sell so much Lego to stores like Toys R Us etc, they are not too fussed about competing? Also some people may still buy from the Lego Store for the reward points

They don't need to compete really. People walk in and buy things spur of the moment.

The stores aren't really for people who want deals Etc - moreso to attract kids who demand something there and then. I only really go there for exclusives - key rings etc.

Yeah I have £15 of reward points off them but can't find anything we want that makes it worth using the £15. We can still but it cheaper elsewhere :(

I want the knights castle after picking up every other castle set released last year less than half price from tesco. It's £21 more expensive direct.

Very soon I'm going to have to build an extension on my sons play room :(

Just bought the Lego VW camper van set from John Lewis, it's for my niece for her birthday and she loves camper vans and likes Lego so win win I hope. Looks great too from what I've seen of it, has anyone else built this?.

Looks good. I think it's just if you are promoting/selling something of yours that is prohibited :)

who Sir, me Sir? wouldnt dare to Sir!

The exhaust plumes are much lighter in real life than these photos.

the engines dictated the scale, if you look at other lego sr71s, the engines are always tricky, esp if you make it to minifigure scale.... lego doesnt like doing round. but hey, that just makes it more loveable!

I stumbled across this yesterday (Which Im sure most of you in here have seen already).

http://chrismcveigh.com/cm/lego_projects.html

I really like these and thought they would look good in my office on the shelves, however they are shipped from USA so it makes them around £50 each which is a bit steep.

Does anyone know of any UK custom builders that sell simlar things?

Couldn't you just download the design, get hold of the bits at a Lego store and build it yourself? His site seems to offer all of the designs as a free download.

You know what I didn't even think of that, I feel stupid now lol

Even more so now I realise he lists the element ID and you can search the LEgo store for this :eek::eek:
