**** The Official OnePlus 3 Thread ****

Picked a OP3 up for the gf today from an O2 store and it's definitely unlocked :)

On another note, has anybody had an issue with TeslaUnread disabling itself everytime you reboot? I'm on the 3.5.3 beta, can't remember if I had this issue on 3.2.x.

Been sat on the fence for a while. I have a mind to sell my Moto X Style and try something else. So this morning, off my head on prescription pain killers  I ordered a PAYG OP3 online to pick up in my local O2 shop today. O2 would send me an email when it was ready to pick up so in meantime trekked down to town. It's only when I'm outside O2 shop I twigged there was a 'Sorry there is a problem with your order' email. No stock and would contact me again when it was at the shop. Goes in regardless and had a word. Bad form to lead me to think it was in stock at shop? Oh the wailing and howling and gnashing of teeth. Dummy nearly went right out the pram :D Assistant told me I wasn't the first to be so cruelly led on. He mentioned they had 4 in stock but they were for customers coming in next week to get one on contract. Even though they weren't actually booked for any customers he'd not let me have one - but understood what he meant. He was just mean and plainly in training to go work at Vodafone.

So, he'll ring me when it gets in and if I've changed my mind I just say so and they send it back. Now I'm getting buyers remorse doubt thing. There was a demo OP3 in O2 shop and had a play round with it. To be honest thought the display was very muted? Not dim I think but colours were off, well off compared to X Styles display when put side by side. It was on adaptive brightness which turned off and knocked the brightness up a bit. Is this normal? Otherwise OK though just as big as my X Style that has a 5.7" display and speakers top and bottom.

Worse I started looking at Samsung GS 7 and the Edge version. Both displays really popped against the OP3 in the shop. If I'm honest the GS7 felt really good. Smaller then my Moto and the OP3. Glass back is an issue as is the samsungs price compared to the OP3. Not keen to go on contract with one either.

Do I give the OP3 a chance? Over at XDA some Style/Pure owners swapped to OP3 and no regrets. The shop OP3 display i found very disappointing even against my Moto X. May need altering in settings I guess. Dual sim would be useful. I like the bigger displays but find one handed a little cumbersome. I was hanging on for one of the Pixel phones but that looks like a disappointment

I've compared the OP3 to a Note 7, S7 screen. All set to sRGB mode. No complaints here.

Depends if you are accustomed to over saturated colours or sRGB.

They are unlocked. I picked up the last one in my local O2 store yesterday and they confirmed this before I bought it. Whacked my Vodafone SIM in and it worked with no problems.

Had to buy a £10 PAYG top-up though.

Interesting as the store I went in (near the central square of Coventry) insisted that it was. I wonder if the manager knew they did not have a lot and was saying that to sell them on contract.

I compared to X Style and the Samsung phones which to me looked over saturated. I know about colour balance and saturation and used to calibrating my computer monitor for editing. I'm not over worried about this on a phone (just as well with moto) as don't use it for serious photography. Mrs was with me and she commented on it. Best way to describe it was desaturated. Shop demo model so have no idea how it had been fiddled about with. Every review has said how good the OP3 display is. I prefer an amoled display on a phone which x style isn't. Salesman said it was because OP3 wasn't amoled which I thought it was.

their staff have not been trained on this phone, do not listen to them :)

Not sure then buddy. Maybe a duff unit or setting. But I assure you the screen should be of no concern.

Can anyone confirm that the OP3 purchased through 02 online are unlocked? I know the ones in store are, just checking.

Be a bit pointless to have a dual sim phone locked to one network  I believe the ones in store and the ones through o2 online all come from the same source. Can't give you a definite answer as yet to receive one but those that have got one through O2 on here all say they're unlocked.

The guy who sold me mine (in Bristol) said he had no idea if it was locked or not, then did try to talk me into having on contract.

Could be faulty. Did give second thoughts - though still have them, but not related to display quality. More a size thing. Though I like the bigger displays they can be a bit of a pain to use one handed.

Salesman in shop said it would probably be delivered to them tomorrow or Tuesday. Got a txt from O2 saying they were sorry for the inconvenience and that they expected more stock soon. So, out of stock? I'm a little annoyed in that through their website I could check stock at local store for a payg OP3, be told there was stock and then be emailed later to say there was a problem and they actually hadn't stock. No use kicking off at salesman who was helpful but not really his fault. Not the first time and they had complained to head office about it. Probably more BS

Anyone with a OP3 on EE here? Does wifi calling work?

Reports are, VoLTE works on EE but not wifi calling.

Latest community build has wifi calling option though so it could work when EE and if EE allow the op3

Manager in my local 02 shop was arguing with me over these being locked. He insisted they "batch lock" them from the supplier.

Don't even know what that means lol. Just checking before I drop my load on one that's all. I'd be a mug if it turns out the ones online are locked and didn't ask.

It was standard policy that all non apple devices sold were locked for a year and could be unlocked so i'm kind of not surprised there is confusion.

If your that unsure just order one online so you have the send it back option.
