**** The Official OnePlus 5 Thread ****

be interesting to see what camera updates they can do.. mines in Gatwick wont make it now till Monday i suspect :(. Ill also be putting it through the paces and comparing to my S7e before deciding which ill keep.

Apparently there are some supply issues. I got mega lucky and my HTC One X+ died two weeks ago, I placed a £450 pre-order with o2 on the 20th and had it on the 22nd. Have you tried o2? The phone comes fully unlocked with no o2 logos etc.

Was hard to resist the 10% off with student discount big saving.

Ahh fair enough. I was screwed without a phone so took the plunge. I was one of the 1st people to have a HTC 1X+ back in 2012, that phone lasted me 5 years  hopefully this one will do the same.

I'm amazed at how fast phones are now, moreover.......I can play the original Max Payne & GTA on a phone.....My PC's struggled to run these back in the day. Max Payne is still a great game after all these years.

Well, I've sent it back. The search continues. I am now leaning towards an S8, which I promised myself I wouldn't do!

Mate, have you considered the LG v30?

I'm looking at a deal right now. £90 upfront, and then £29 a month for two years:

The v30's specs seem pretty insane in comparison. I'm on a £10 contract right now, making the OnePlus 5T come out at £740 a year. I think I'm going to send mine back too.

I've come from an S8+ to the 5T and so far I'm glad I did.

I think my love affair with Samsung for the last 7-8 years has come to an end, I'm fed up of having a device that works great for 2-3 months and then starts slowing down and ruining the experience. I shouldn't have to format the phone or try and troubleshoot to such extents and unfortunately Samsung have a long way to go in the software department. A shame as the hardware is top class but very happy with the 5T and glad I made the change. If I have any issues with the 5T I will consider the V30 or U11+ I think.

Did your S8+ start to slow down?!

Ditto, had a Samsung since the S4 and this S7 edge is starting to drive me crazy.

Enjoying the smoothness and clean look of the 5T so far, all boxes ticked at the moment!

Yeah unfortunately it did, and no changes made on my end, it gradually just started lagging and freezing on it's own peril.

How is the camera compared to the Samsung devices you've used?

Heard people have used a Google camera app from xda which improves the processing. I do wander how far a camera can be pushed with good Software and processing.

I've not used the camera much yet but from what I've tested it's decent, Samsung cameras obviously do beat it but for my personal needs it's more than adequate.

I may try out the google app and do some comparisons if I get some time

It is a worry. Just can't decide. V30 caught my eye but worried about the screen which is the same as pixel 2xl which has problems. May check out HTC , especially now Google have bought them!
