**** The Official OnePlus 5 Thread ****

Well I took some photos today as my son's school had an event on. Hdr off and they look ok. What is an issue however, which I did mention weeks ago prior to the launch is a lack of ois. The eis just isn't good enough.
EIS does nothing for photos BTW.

Agreed they spazzed out by not including OIS. It also has a smaller senior than both S8 and P2. The image processing also leaves a lot to be desired, it's like a water painting when you zoom in most times.

Let's hope they fix this in the OP6. With a competitive camera they'll be recognised a whole lot more.

This was my entire reason why I returned by OP3. Despite people on this forum saying the camera on that wasn't buggy, then OP confirming it was.....then not fixing it..Argh!

Have a look at this photo. I have more, taken with different settings. My album is full of ones like this. Damn shame!

Yeah I've seen it myself when I tested the camera. Its a real shame.

Really!? I thought you were some kind of pro photographer?

Yeah, there are a few like that. Same when I had my OP3. Most of the photos I took at my sisters wedding were a blurry mess.
The ones which are in focus, have that pixelated look when you only slightly zoom in. In contrast the pixel xl is super, SUPER sharp.

It really annoys me as everything else about the phone is bloomin' brilliant.

I'll post up some pictures from my gallery today. Don't forget you have pro mode which so you can set a much lower iso to get a cleaner shot. I can get some decent pics out of this camera but it is definitely not as good as it should have been. I'd rather have had a better single camera than wasted the extra on a dual system.

Well you are comparing a £450 vs £800 phone, I don't think the hardware is that bad, it's the software that's the problem.

The modded Google camera produces much better results, images have more detail and the dynamic range is better, the problem is there is more noise is low light and that second camera will never be used.
