Indeed, update below. I've not had an email from them yet, but I bought the 5T on the 21st Nov, so assume I'm affected. FFS.

Will be ordering a new card.

[Jan 19 Update #2]

Update: Thank you for your comments, we're reading each and every one and we appreciate your feedback. We do want to clarify, only potentially affected users will receive the email.

[Jan 19 Update]

Hi all,

We are deeply sorry to announce that we have indeed been attacked, and up to 40k users at oneplus.net may be affected by the incident. We have sent out an email to all possibly affected users.

1. What happened

One of our systems was attacked, and a malicious script was injected into the payment page code to sniff out credit card info while it was being entered.
  • The malicious script operated intermittently, capturing and sending data directly from the user's browser. It has since been eliminated.
  • We have quarantined the infected server and reinforced all relevant system structures.

2. Who's affected
  • Some users who entered their credit card info on oneplus.net between mid-November 2017 and January 11, 2018, may be affected.
    • Credit card info (card numbers, expiry dates and security codes) entered at oneplus.net during this period may be compromised.
    • Users who paid via a saved credit card should NOT be affected.
    • Users who paid via the "Credit Card via PayPal" method should NOT be affected.
    • Users who paid via PayPal should NOT be affected.
  • We have contacted potentially affected users via email.

3. What you can do
  • We recommend that you check your card statements and report any charges you don’t recognize to your bank. They will help you initiate a chargeback and prevent any financial loss.
  • For enquiries, please get in touch with our support team at https://oneplus.net/support.
  • If you notice any potential system vulnerabilities, please report them to [email protected]. This is a monitored inbox, but please note, we may not be able to respond to all reports.

4. What we are doing

We cannot apologize enough for letting something like this happen. We are eternally grateful to have such a vigilant and informed community, and it pains us to let you down.

We are in contact with potentially affected customers. We are working with our providers and local authorities to better address the incident. We are also working with our current payment providers to implement a more secure credit card payment method, as well as conducting an in-depth security audit. All these measures will help us prevent such incidents from happening in the future.

A big thank you to our forum user @superdutynick for bringing this incident to our attention!

Sincerely,
The OnePlus Team

I had a payment of £31 made to Southwark Council which I have nothing to do with as it's not even my council. This Oneplus fiasco explains it. The bank gave me a refund and ordered me a new card. This was last week and the payment came out late December. VISA Debit.

OnePlus Customer Support (OnePlus)

Hello Nick,

Thank you for contacting OnePlus Customer Support. This is Kris and I will be assisting you today.

I would like to clarify that the attackers targeted one of our legacy systems. We're sorry that we weren't able to prevent this, but we have worked with our cybersecurity firm to rebuild our defences.

We have suspended credit card payments as part of our investigation. We are implementing a more secure credit card payment method for our customers, which takes the entire process off-site – you enter your card details on our payment gateway's secure website instead of oneplus.net.

If you have any other questions or concerns, let me know.

Best Regards,

Kris

WTF are they doing storing that information in the first place. There is simply no need.

Until regulators get fierce this will just go on and on.

One of the following needs to happen:

1) CC companies stop providing services to companies that get hacked - will never happen cos money.
2) We get simple to use one use credit cards. I got to my CC site, get a one use number, use it, confirm payment done. - Why has this not happened.
3) Fines and penalties - if my details get hacked, the company in question pays me a sum equal to 20% of the amount I spent as a fine.

I tend to use paypal a lot now when it's available/ Glad I did when I ordered my OnePlus.

It really depends what you are looking for. I spent some time weighing up my options. The camera concerned me, the issue with the video cert was irritating (although in truth you probably couldn't tell). The actual phone outside of that seems incredible. I ended up with the pixel 2 XL, different price point even with the cpw deal.

Weigh what you want though, for the one plus 5t the main competition in my mind was the xiamoni mi mix 2

at this price point, its hands down above any of its competition. Aside from the camera its better than a S7 Edge easily so i'd be pretty sure the fluidity is better than the Note 4.

Been recommended the 5T as a replacement for my SG Note 4 - would current users recommend it, or would you have preferred a different phone at this price point?

I change phones more often than my underpants. Loving my 5T. ok, yeah the camera is really average but everything else about the phone is absolutely brilliant.

False alarm. Nothing to do with OnePlus.

Replaced a HTC 10 with a 5T and have to say I'm over the moon with it, I can take or leave the camera as I rarely use them on my phone so spec wise it was the best choice for the money. I'm very impressed with the face unlock, expected it to be less functional than it is, I find that being my primary unlocking function and haven't had any issues with it in extremely low light.

I was tempted to hold out a couple of months for the 6 as it will likely have a print sensor on the screen, in all honesty though I find the rear sensors like the 5t has to be far more comfortable than front facing one's.
Also really impressed with the screens brightness, haven't had amoled on a phone as I refuse to use Samsung and previous phones have had LCD, maybe it's just something I have went without but it seems to have a very large brightness range.

My HTC10 had a relatively stock android experience but still wasn't quite as raw as the 5T. Boggles my mind how much of a selling point stock or close to stock android is and how much some phone company's struggle to realise that or to just show restraint when putting together there flavor of android.

Over all I'm impressed, no frills well built, nice in the hand and as quick as needs be.
