**** The Official OnePlus 5 Thread ****

Since the 8.1 update I've noticed that the annoying Qualcomm Apt-X is no longer in the notification shade when connected to a Bluetooth device. Now its just a subtle toast notification. And you also get a full on battery percentage for select connected Bluetooth devices. Yay.
 
Received an update last night with some minor fixes and improvements. However, I noticed in the changelog a line regarding Bluetooth improvements.

Jumped in the car this morning, and my phone instantly synced and Spotify worked FIRST TIME! including all metdata and previous/next skipping.

Well done and congratulations to the oneplus team. Hopefully they share the code with the pixel team at google!

Yep, looks like Bluetooth on Oreo is FINALLY fixed! Whoop
 
My biggest problem was that my car refused to see that my oneplus 5t had a cellular signal which meant I couldn't make calls through the idrive.
This appears to be fixed after this update. Brilliant news!!!
 
It's very rare things surprise me these days, but I have to admit.....I was pretty stunned about this. It's been a long two years with Bluetooth issues, even Oreo 8.1 wasn't perfect although it was slightly better.

Will have to check the mega thread on the pixel forums to see if anyone has mentioned it.....they aren't gonna be happy lol
 
My Bluetooth has always worked in both cars but this one did always so not enough signal first then it would still make the call anyway. Will try it soon, the ownership of this phone has been a pleasant experience it's never skipped a beat and battery life is still phenomenal.
 
I want to get a sandstone case for my 5t. Really don't want to pay £20+ from oneplus - the shipping is mad.

Anywhere in the UK I can buy an original case at a sensible price?

There are a couple of Chinese sellers on the bay claiming to be 100% genuine, but at £7 I very much doubt it.

They sell the same case in China for pennies and they are made in chChi amyway!

My mate bought one for around a Fiver off ebay and it looks genuine. Can't say for sure if it is without comparing to one from oneplus direct.

In rather surprising news the latest beta has introduced project treble support for the OP5 and OP5T. Combined with the improved camera settings from the previous beta, the next stable release will hopefully bring the phone bang up to standard.
