The Official Pizza Discussion thread (was: Cooking Neapolitan Pizzas with the Uuni 3)

Bad timing on my part with that response - @Raymond Lin I'll have a look at mine but the carry cover seems good enough if you're going to keep it on the lower level of your bench.

It fits snug but maybe not tight enough to stop things living in the pizza oven. Would that be a concern for you?

I’d have thought it’s more about keeping the rain off it to stop anything rusting. The carry cover seems to be rain proof.

A spider isn’t going to last long at 500c.

I put mine away as there is very little to stop any undesirables just picking it up and taking it for a quick and easy £200 on Facebook. As I say, I’m not in a dodgy area but it’s just basic security precautions to prevent becoming a victim.

People were having full garden furniture sets nicked while they slept last summer

I was thinking something maybe a bit bigger than a spider :p. Mice/rats may not be as fun to encounter when opening up to stick the stone or pellets in.

I plan on buying an Ooni - I reckon I'll go for a dual fuel one. Is the extra £300 for the 16 instead on the 12 worth it?

Seems like a bit OTT to be honest!

Depends, I think the 16 has better heat distribution and also better if cooking for a lot of people, saying that Im happy with my koda 12, cooks pizzas perfect, most I have cooked in one session is 2 but I could easily cook a lot more quite easily.
You also have the extra room to turn the pizza in the 16, but again Ive not found this a problem at all in the 12.

I went for the 12. Will give it a year to see how much I use it and then may upgrade if necessary, but I think I've made the right choice.

It’s probably worth noting that the 16 will chunder through a lot more gas than the 12. Sure you can do bigger pizzas in the 16 but I find the 12 more than sufficient in terms of portion control. Smaller pizzas as also a bit easier to handle.

I should add the most I have done in one hit was 6, for 4 people.

I’m really happy with my 12 and I can’t see any reason to go up to the 16 unless you like to cater for big groups and you need a bigger throughout of food.
