*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

The new look PS store is stupid. The old one was much nicer, and looked more similar to the Vita version, and didn't lag or take 5 minutes to do anything. It's pretty obvious by looking at the web-based SEN/PSN store where they want the styling to evolve into.

If the current store keeps the same layout for the ps4 then that will suit me fine. The store looks great and is well organized in my opinion, its just far too slow which I'm assuming the extra grunt of the ps4 should address.

Its a much more "mature" store now, very professional looking whereas I always thought the old store was a bit low rent and childish. Plus searching on the old store was a nightmare, loads of useless results and you had to dig through for ages to find what you were looking for.

Yup, I agree. The layout is much better and the searching works a lot better than before too, sometimes it takes a while between clicking on something and the next page actually loading though, if they sort that out it'll be fine.

I will defo be going PS4 this time around,

hell all the crap i have been hearing about preowned games and prices ect, on xboxone also ps4 is going to blow xboxone out of the water when it comes to GAMES yes microsoft consoles are for GAMERS not for multimedia enthusiasts. lol

i also read somewhere that the PS4 will have 50% more raw power than the xboxone will have...

yup defo ps4 will win this console war this time around.

Gaf's exploded and started a twitter campaign to encourage Sony away from potential DRM: https://twitter.com/search?q=#PS4NoDRM

Highly unlikely to do anything, but this whole thing might end up making Sony an even bigger bad guy than MS after everyone is already wound up.

Sony has seen your #PS4NoDrM hashtag and took note. We now have absolutely no intention to release Dr Mario on PS4

:D

After spending the weekend reading up, I have added another pre-order from game for a PS4, I thing E3 will decide for me whether I go for a xbox or a PS4, but Im impressed with the hardware specs for the PS4, so will wait for some gameplay before deciding.
What will be really funny is that this will be my first console since my trusty old N64, so gamepads are going to be a whole new learning curve for me, been too long with a keyboard/mouse, expecting my kill rate to drop off a bit!

I'm not overly concerned about specs so it'll definitely be E3 that helps make my mind up.

I would expect the PS4 exclusives to have far better graphics than the MS exclusives but it's the multiplatform games I'm most interested in and I want to know if developers have any incentive to make the most of the additional power or not, hope they do.

Amazon have put up the PS4 for pre-order...... £599.99  granted its a placeholder price. But still I hope its not that expensive

most retailers do this because they have a price promise. lets say they put it up for £399 and it RRP'ed at £450, they would have to send out the pre-orders and charge them £399, meaning huge losses. so instead they overestimate the price and then charge the lowest price of the two when shipped whether that be the price on shipping date or the price on the pre-order date.

If its anywhere near that, I'll buy a gaming rig instead.

it's going to be £400 which is only 20% less, therefore you might as well start a spec me thread in general hardware.

£400 is the top end I'd be happy to pay so therefore I won't bother. We will just wait and see.

so even if it is £425 you would refuse to buy?

you do know there is a launch console tax? as in the price at launch is usually overpriced for everything, console, controllers and games, etc.

wait 6-12 months and it will be easily £100+ cheaper for a bundle of say console plus an extra controller and 2 games.
