*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

PS4 for me unless they announce the same always on DRM and multiple fees for online and used games etc like Xbox. It's not even a choice at this point tbh, it's PS4 or no console at all. Xbox One is a bad joke..
 
Do we know how much ram the OS will use? 1gb is ringing a bell leaving 7gb free for devs?

WHereas i saw yesterday that the xbox OS requires 3gb?

So much rumour atm but if thats the case i think im 100% going for the ps4

I try to keep an open mind but if the above is fact, that can only hurt it down the line surely
 
PS4 for me definitely, been Sony since the start so not likely to change now. Nothing against the Xbox previously but this gen it's looking like it could go either way. That said it's way too early to say, Sony could **** it all up and I'll jump ship :p

Yeah, 1gb is for OS, 7gb for games.

Unless something extremely drastic changes, I'm definitely going PS4. Even if they did something similar with used game fee, it would still be the better option for me.

MS claim 15 exclusives, but really, how many of these are going to be Kinect games and Super Snowball Kitty Adventure kids games? I expect about 5 decent exclusives from them, which I think the PS4 will match at least.

Xbone seems like it would be fantastic if you are single, had your TV in a spacious living room, and are American. For me, who has my gaming console in a small second bedroom, I wouldn't be able to use 80% of the things advertised.

Even with that aside, I'm just more invested in the Playstation brand. I have a Vita (which I love), PS racing wheel, etc.
 
Have to admit now I’ve rethought the xbox one out a bit more and what it could do for me, all of the services that it offers apart from games are useless to me. I’ll never use the media features, or the TV features, or the voice commands and I’ll never pay for the live sub, so this leaves me with a rather large AV looking games console..

I might be PS4 for me after all. Simply as I know after owning PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSP the PS4 will offer me one thing for sure… Exclusives that I’ll never get on my PC and Sony will pursue the core gamers.

I know I’ve used the PS3 iplayer and blu ray but honestly. If you took all those extras the PS3 offers and left it as just a games console, I’d still want to own it as I use my laptop for all media features if I had to and then I’m left with the PS3 exclusives – which is why I’ve got the PS3.

If you took away the 360 media features, and left it with exclusives. I’d be left with Forza if I’m honest. Do the same for the xbox one, and unless Microsoft somehow obtain a lot of new IP’s that won’t see the light on either PC or any Sony device then the xbox one makes no sense for me.

I’ll stick to my first plan and wait and see three months after each one has been released, but my gut at this time is telling me its PS4.
 
I agree with u about the used game things as going forward i want to be downloading my games like on steam

Im a big pc gamer and we cant really trade in our games or buy used these days but the pricing is better so if they can fix that, it wont bother me at all

At the moment though on ps3 ur looking at up to 59.99 for a £40 boxed game (example)

I do though understand that people like to trade games in and buy preowned to save money so i can see why they may feel bad about this but for me going forward it isnt a problem

And yea those 8 new ip some of them could be xbla games! Not a bad thig though look at journey and walking dead but still there will be a few gems in there i would hope

I'm sure they said 15 titles within the first 12 months, 8 of which will be exclusives, so itll be less than five if your right

Do you know who the big exclusive XBox devs are by any chance? I asked in the Xbox thread but it got glossed over in all the talk.

I know there is Epic Games (Gears), Turn 10 (Forza) and Lionheart Studios (Fable) but are there any others Ive missed?

Is there a official source for this? Been a while since I looked at the PS4 and I thought this was just a rumour...

XBLA/XBLIG wont exist anymore on the XO, indeed MS have stopped supporting any method to self-publish so no more indie games on it. So the IPs wont be coming from there even if they were Braid/Fez quality...

It'll be (or eventually end up being) more than 1GB, the Wii U OS uses 1GB itself.

Why would you base your decision on an arbitrary tech spec anyway? Wait for the bloody games!

As i said its all rumour and im waiting to hear more

And if my decision is to be made up by the games ill go ps4 anyway as im invested in there current ip

But im prepared to get both if ms show me a game worth getting excited for(then again ps4 hasnt done that either yet, but with there first party studios all working on next gen games, that has me excited)

E3 will have the answers for us mate
 
The Epic deal has finished now. So you can pretty much chalk them off. They are already developing for the PS4 too.

Lionhead Studios got disbanded, they are done now. Way to go Microsoft :(

They aren't interested in 1st party devs any longer, they are just buying exclusivity deals with others for content.

What's left? The new Halo devs (lost Bungie) , Remedy and Rare. That's your lot.

Gears and Halo stories are over now, being rinsed at this point.

Forza is interesting, and the rest will have to be new IPs.
