*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

It'll be (or eventually end up being) more than 1GB, the Wii U OS uses 1GB itself.

Why would you base your decision on an arbitrary tech spec anyway? Wait for the bloody games!
If 1GB is what they set aside at the beginning there is no way that will increase. They will set the maximum needed at the beginning and then cut down if possible. They won't just increase the OS RAM and potentially eat into RAM that games are already using, it just wouldnt work.

I sat down with Yoshida a few hours after the PS4 reveal tonight and one of the first things I asked was whether used games would be blocked.

"Do you want us to do that?" he asked.

No, I said. I think, if you buy something on a disc, that you have a kind of moral contract with the person you've bought it from that you retain some of that value and you can pass it on.

Do you agree, I asked?

"Yes. That's the general expectation by consumers," said Yoshida. "They purchase physical form, they want to use it everywhere, right? So that's my expectation."

Sorry, my bad, I've read this everywhere that the PS4 ram has been questioned, but just double checking now and it's not official. Just heavily rumoured.
No probs, Ill assume the worst (same as XO) and be happier if it isnt that - I knew a lot of the early rumours had this and yes a lot of the info that was leaked was correct (like XO using 3GB RAM for OS) but Ill wait for an official line, I doubt Sony are in a hurry to comment before E3...
