*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Is this for the first time?

Mine was very loud for the first couple of hours. Was thinking about bringing it back as it dint sound Normal but I can't really hear it now only when the bluray drive really kicks in.

Was really strange almost like a breaking period it was puting out very hot air also

Yeah its only been running for a couple of hours, didn't set it up till now because new hdd didn't arrive till today.

I guess it's how you're brought up. And principles :)

I remember wanting a spectrum+2 so bad, but i would't want my parents forking over the what it's worth price.

still don't think he done anything wrong though, it's the people buying at that cost that are mental
Anyway back to my ps4 i go :)

Ooh I do hope mine isn't DOA when I try it in a few days. By the time I get to plug it in and play around the PSN should have settled and I can enjoy resogun and Killzone..

Roll on 4th December : - )

And to all those who got a DOA, it does suck but wow really? Next day replacement? That is very impressive..

Im having issues this morning assigning a Card to my PSN account to claim the 14 free days is anyone else having issues ? tryed my CC and debit cards

UPDATE (11.22am GMT, 30th November): We are making progress in identifying the source of the current PSN disruption. Currently sign up, sign in, trials, store, online gameplay, share and community functionality is available. Redeem voucher is still not open to users. Further updates will be posted later today.

ORIGINAL POST: We are aware that users are experiencing some disruption to the PSN service. To minimise the inconvenience we have suspended the “redeem voucher” functionality whilst we investigate further. Unfortunately this means that money cards, product vouchers, PlayStation Plus vouchers, PS3-PS4 upgrade vouchers and any other vouchers for digital content are not redeemable at this stage. Other PSN features such as log-in, online multi-player gaming, PlayStation Plus trial, PS Store (excluding voucher redemption), trophies, messages, friends etc. are all available.
We apologise and will provide an update to this announcement soon.

It might be effecting the Cards now.

Does the fan stay on for anyone else when they enter standby mode (holding the PS button and then selecting it)?

The light goes to orange on the console as well, is this right?

dam that was an expensive trip in to town

It stays on for a bit to keep cooling the system down. Seems to shut off after that though.

Orange light is standby light nothing wrong there. Looks pretty cool :)

What principles? This is exactly how all shops/businesses operate. Supply and demand.

If you don't like what MRMoon is doing then you disagree with the way Overclockers works as well.

No one is forcing people to buy them for £500. But if there is a market for £500 PS4's, who are you to say whether it is immoral of people to sell them at that price? It is a games console, not food and water.

I have reserved one at Argos today to pick up later which i will hopefully make an easy £100+ profit on.

It stays on until the console has cooled down then turns off. It will come on again if it starts doing things whilst in standby.

^^ Well said that man. Can't single out some random dude that wants to make a few bucks. We all know retailers hike prices and charge an arm and a leg over RRP when they can. So why shouldn't the consumer do the same thing? hypocrisy I tells ya.

I have seen Zavvi charging £800+ for PS4's w Vita. I had to buy into a bigger bundle with extras that I didn't want by Game because they knew I wouldn't find a PS4 anywhere else. It's actually worse because they rip people off on a much larger scale lol.

It doesn't help that I've got a very quiet living room, no traffic noise etc.

Yeah this was at 1-3 in the morning when I got home. Fired it up. played games while downloading and installing at the same time. It went really loud.

Tried turning it off for a few mins and back on was still loud.

When I got up in the morning and played killzone the thing was quiet.

Been hammering it all day with downloading, gaming and apps and so far and it not even reached half the noise it made on the first night.

Bluray player is loud tho when it kicks in .

Hopefully your will be the same

Played Battlefield 4 and Need For Speed Rivals after picking them up from Argos and Tesco (managed to bag the last copy of NFS :D)

Battlefield is so much fun! Never really played it before. The graphics are gorgeous too.

The thing that I hadn't expected so much with the graphics on all the games I've played is the way in which the hardware has really good anti-aliasing capabilities now with a great frame rate as well.

The only gripe I do have is that I think I prefer the old thumb sticks without the ridge. I never had a problem with my thumbs slipping (as the material is quite frictional anyway)... but with the ridges it's quite annoying if nothing else, I could imagine my thumbs feeling slightly achy if I were to play a 5 hour session or something.

Other than that...

Loving the PS4. Well done Sony! :)
