£28 for a newly released game is still a bargain whichever way you put it - though Im gonna give AC4 a miss and wait til it goes cheap - gives me a chance to finish the last AC2 and do AC3...

Peolpe doing this upgrade from PS3 stuff with games, presumably it's only a bargain if you don't plan on selling the game afterwards (as it will be locked to your PSN ID)?

PS4 disk buy £50, sell ~£30-35, net loss £15-20.
PS3 digital download £18, upgrade to PS4 £10, net loss £28 as no resale.

Right

Indeed you can't resell it. But I guess its the convenience of having a digital version. £28 is a good price, and the user will get the value out of it.

I did think about this....but the reality is that the resale value will likely drop a little more.....I think it makes good sense if you are going to actually play it now, but if it is one for the library then perhaps not so?

Only thing is though, its a net loss of £15-£20 and you have no game also once you've sold it with the disc version. Digital, it may be a £28 loss but you still have the game (which isn't really a loss if you like the game).

I was thinking that you could also buy a cheap £25 psn code for £22 and add the £2.98 and it makes this £24.98.

Man they really need to improve the battery life of the DS4, it isnt that bad, but when you compare it to the DS3 its not even lasting anywhere near as half as long.

Also looking forward to some kind of BT remote - found the PS3 one really good...

Yeah the charging station is looking like a real option now. The battery life isn't that surprising given everything the controller is doing (button presses, touch pad, LED lights, Sound etc), but yeah its not great even having two controllers to swap in and out of.

Controllers seem to last a good 10 hours or so on a full charge? Even when it warns you you've got 2-3 hours before it actually dies. Not had to swap controllers myself but I guess if it's a real issue for some just grab a longer USB cable :p

Just buy an extra long micro-b USB cable off the net for a couple quid.

I really should have bought a ps4 on Tuesday from Asda with my staff discount but I wanted to hold off till after January exams. Now most places seem to be saying pre-order now for February :(. Battlefield 4 looks so good.

Why don't you guys just leave the DS4 plugged in to the USB cable when not in use? Unless you're gaming for 4 hours or more it's a non issue.

It may as well just be a wired controller in that case. I'm sure as hell not buying one until they improve the battery life.

An LED isn't going to make any difference. Besides, it's there to tell you the controller is active.

There's a test on the net with the leds disconnected and the controller lasted quite a bit longer, not that it bothers me I've literally dozens of USB chargers all over the house.

The controller will go all day and more, if you need more than that you have issues.
