*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Playing through bf4 campaign at the moment, never played a bf game online before, only online fps ive played in counter strike on pc, Aiming with the control pad is much harder, Will be getting a psn subscription once ive completed the single player but im worried that i will be rubbish online making it no fun for me.

You will be rubbish at first and you will die one on one and find yourself recon bait. But in time it will come, Still hate the recon class on bf4 though. Just too many.

As a tip. Try large conquest maps but with half full servers, will give you a bit of room to breath out there. :)

How are people finding remote play? be as in depth as you can if possible :p
its the -one- feature thats swinging me from the XBO, yet all the reviews are either overly positive, because "OMG I can play on the move!11!!oneone" and dont mention latency at all, or claim that the latency is simply too much to play most games (FPS, Sports) without severe annoyance.

Hence asking for some real user opinions.
for reference - it would be used to free up the tv to the other half, not to play on the train or something.

My lad loves it, He plays all my games on his Vita. He plays Blacklight mostly and never heard him complain about delays. I have seen the direct link option but not looked into it but will now you have mentioned it. Over wifi it murders the poor Sky adsl router we have :(

Agreed,I'm rubbish with the controller but I'm still loving the online game, use of the controller is coming but slowly but the satisfaction one gets with a kill or even an assist is worth the effort in getting used to it.i think I've been bottom every game so far but it doesn't stop me having fun

Works great over LAN. Haven't tried wan much at all
The only major thing stopping me from using it is the missing analogue shoulder buttons.

Yeah reason I cant get on too well with it. works fine for zen pinball, games that don't need the missing buttons but soon as I need to use the rear touchpad it all goes a little sour for me

Works fine over my 3G connection with zen pinball and resogun, killzone was laggy, no lag using my LAN mind. Works just fine apart from like said, the missing buttons..

Its a gimmicky feature, would've used it more if i'd still been with the ex, now got exclusive use of the telly, so that issue is now fixed..

Just try to play BF4 slow at first, find cover and hide so you can pick people of whilst doing your best to go for the objective.

Play on the test range so you can test the vehicles and guns without the pressures of other players around you. Try firing in small bursts against full auto to see the difference it makes.

Well, not totally :cool:. See, my Father was stuck for what to get me (I'm one of these people that buys pretty much everything I want when I'm able too, my father is the same actually, so we can be quite difficult to buy for, however this year I've purposefully not purchased things in quite the same manner as I'm wanting to save money (lol)) so he got me a solid state drive, which is fantastic however I wasn't sure where to use it best;

  • PC - Already has a SSD and a 'regular' HDD for storage
  • MacBook Pro - Soon to be upgraded to a MacBook Pro Retina 13" and a 27" top spec iMac
  • PS3 / PS4 - Makes much better sense to use it in the new console as it's the one I use the most.

I will admit to wanting a SSD for my PS4 but it was a long way down the list of things to purchase in the future.

Load times seem faster, but I've only really played FIFA so far with the SSD :p.

My R1 button is starting to stick badly and it's driving me nuts. Is there a guide to fix it?

Apparently the best way to do it is just to pop the button off (mini screwdriver or the like, no need to take the pad apart), clean the posts and the holes on the button itself and then pop it back on. My pad is fine so I haven't had to try it yet, but that's what the fine internet folk have discovered.

Yeah, there is still enough lag in shooters to put me off too, like bf4 through remote play is terrible.

I do like how games change the button layout to use the vitas though

Cheers bud! All the videos on YouTube I see said take the pad apart but this sounds easier.
