*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

It'll be running a triple buffer, that's what it is for. Correctly implemented triple buffering always displays the latest available frame and discards any redundant old ones. The Xbox memory setup is not ideal for that as bandwidth is limited.

Is it me or are DF trying to make out 70% less fps is a good thing in that article?
Thanks, for the life of me it escaped me why you cant just lock/limit to x FPS!

And erm, have a look at the author ;). DF have gone downhill since they concluded that its ok to host comparison videos on YT. Probably best to look at the facts and make your own opinion...

The XB1 drops to 18 at points..

Thought psn was down for maintenance tonight? Just played bf4 mp , is it just certain features down or have I got the wrong time, thought it stated 5.30pm till 11.30pm

£8-9 I think, I figured that should cover me for the life of the console :D

So far the replacements seems to be lasting much better, my first one started to wear down very quickly.

That's an incredibly blinkered view to take, there could be an issue that affected 99% of customers - just because you were in the 1% wouldn't make it a massively overblown issue :p (I'm in no way suggesting the DS4 peeling affects that many people, hopefully it is just a dodgy batch).

Well it's not really, yours aren't fine, mine are.

4 million odd consoles sold and all the controllers are not falling to bits, some are the vast majority are not.
It's not like they are disintegrating left right and centre and it's a crisis, some pads are failing, contact the supplier and get them changed drama over and nothing to go over board on.

Are your PS4's running hot folks? If I play Killzone for an hour mine gets really very hot and I was wondering if it was normal?

Its supposed to run around 30 degrees cooler than a ps3.

I have personally never really tested them or touched them after using for a period of time.

It's designed to turn off if it overheats and has been built to last.

I wouldn't worry about a little heat tbh if it's working fine

I never said it was a major issue, I was largely commenting as your post came across as rather condescending to people that it is an annoyance for however as some suppliers are asking people to return the entire console bundle - and it seemed it added nothing but to say "mine are fine, so it's not an issue".

I have fat and slim PS3 and the PS4 make them looks air conditioners lol  I'm quite paranoid about it cooking due to loads of RROD issues I had with 360. Its hasn't turned itself off but its only been used for a few hours since I've had it.

Is it in the same place as the others? Has it got enough air flow and space? Mine gets warm to the touch after awhile, but I wouldn't say it was particularly hot.

I had it in the TV stand for a little while but quickly realised that it was very hot so its now on a little table on its own with lots of breathing room all round. It might be normal but it makes we wonder what it will be like after a longer gaming session or in summer.
