The exclusive games should be your deciding factor.
That's pretty nasty though, isn't it? We've reached the point where the only deciding factor is which particular games each console is holding hostage.
The exclusive games should be your deciding factor.
The exclusive games should be your deciding factor. If you want Halo, Forza, Dead rising, Gears of war you would choose Xbox, if Unchartered, Killzone, Gran turismo, Little big planet, Infamous are more up your street the go for PS.
The Kinect and TV features of the Xbox did nothing for me and on the whole I prefer Sony's exclusive so I went PS4.
To somebody that was unsure which console to go for, what made you go for the PS4 over the Xbox One?
Exclusive games - Sony has lots of great first party studios who make a wide variety of games and they generally continue to pump out great games right to the end of the consoles life, where as competitors forget about their console and focus on what's next.To somebody that was unsure which console to go for, what made you go for the PS4 over the Xbox One?

Performance - So many games are multiplatform these days, PS4 versions will either have better FPS or higher resolution throughout the generation because of the better hardware.
Price - You're essentially getting more for your money, unless Kinect is something that you are really interested in which would close the gap in that case.
Playstation Plus - Absolutely brilliant service. I purchased 1 PS3 game in all of 2013 Every other game i got from PS+. Its also great for playing games you wouldn't usually buy. I LOVED Infamous when I played it from PS+ and because of that Infamous Second Son was my first pre ordered PS4 game.
Thanks for all the responses guys.
It's still a difficult decision for me to be honest.
My main reason of buying the PS4 would be for the performance aspect but I generally don't know if the gap is that big or noticeable over the Xbox one.
And I do tend to prefer the Forzas and Gears Of Wars types of exclusives however Kinnect doesn't interest me in the slightest.
I can't decide. Getting stock of a PS4 also seems very difficult at the moment.
The performance gap is really very substantial. The specs on paper scream large difference and the games themselves scream large difference.
The writing is on the wall, anyone who tries to tell you it isn't is just kidding themselves.
Amazon seem to be getting regular shipments of PS4 at the minute too. The Xbox is always in stock so its up to you at the end of the day.

I think due to the fact that I won't be using kinect and due to the specs, the PS4 has to be the one to get.
MS this time expect people to pay more and get a much larger difference from the competition for what? TV that doesn't really work in the UK, waft, and voice recognition which is about 80% accurate as long as no one else is talking.
Do you even own a Xbox One?

So long as you don't constantly complain about it in here then get one otherwise get a xb1 then you can post about every single tiny issue in their thread.
There's a small games catalogue ATM, games are full of bugs (bf4), there is no 3d blu ray support, missing some other media features too, etc, etc. Also the controllers have a huge manufacturing flaw and the rubber peels off without much use.
So don't buy one if you cannot live with the above.

Well it's a new platform so I fully expect issues and bugs. The 3d blu ray support means nothing to me anyway. Media features, not bothered about. I just care about the gaming aspect of it really. And the rubber peeling off? I think that's on the sticks isn't it? And I think they're easily replaceable.

The controller thing is probably a dodgy batch getting out in the wild. Complaints about the peeling appear to be common certainly but it's not affecting the majority.
They stress test these things to death in R&D.
I've got 205 hours on Warframe alone on my DS4, it still looks like it has just come out of the box.
An issue that was massively overblown.
Or you got lucky. Second controller is starting to fail on the left stick here - first lasted less then a week of light use. Second better but still - bad design.
