*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

I've ordered another Pro after a very brief stint with an X1X, far too heavily invested in PSN store etc to switch and also I couldn't find one game I wanted to play that isn't already on the PS. Great hardware but by god does it lack in software. I've ordered Yakuza, Persona 5, Nier and Destiny 2, should keep me busy.
 
It's going to CeX, no reason to keep it, cost me £30 for the pleasure of having it a week. As said, really nice hardware but meh, may as well buy a 360 to go alongside the PS4 and even then I was only playing Mass Effect which is on PS3.

Yeah I really enjoyed 3 but never managed to play any others. Swapped my X1X today console only and got Destiny 2 White Pro Bundle, Crash Bandicoot, Constructor, Mass Effect, Mario Odyssey and I paid £5 of my own money I think.

I have the same model as you (the D2 bundle) and it isn't always that quiet, it's pretty silent most of the time but sometimes the fans really do spin up. Does yours get noisy at times or is it just bad luck?

I think it depends on what you're playing. I know that playing no man's sky in 4k and her used to make the old one go mental. My new one seems to have a totally different sound profile and yes I do believe it's a lottery.

The fan in my Pro stays quiet, but it's just as loud as the coil whine that it has.

There are short bursts when it gets louder in certain games like Horizon or generally Pro-enabled games but it doesn't usually stay like that. I find it hard to believe when someone says their PS4 is whisper-quiet all the time:p
 
That makes me feel even luckier then as mine doesn't whine. That would be a deal breaker.

Yes the whisper quiet people talk out their ass or they just have a noisy environment (or big) and or are deaf.
 
Mine doesn't whine either, there's some electrical noise when the fans spins faster if I put my head close to the console (like fast ticking) but it's not a typical high-pitched distracting coil whine.
