Good one Sony, it wasn't just psn under attack, other game services were as well.. these hacking ddos groups, they mostly imo do it for glory, they claim it's for the protection of the consumer you could argue after attacks security is beefed up, but it does irritate consumers... seems Sony had a good handle on it this time around and it was just a ddos and not an actual hack from what I've read...
This group don't even really seem to care about the consumer protection. They hacked the ALS charity (the original US ice bucket challenge charity) website a few days ago according to their twitter feed.

Panicked yesterday when I couldn't sign into the PSN, then remembered you don't need to be signed in to use Netflix anyway. 
Just off the phone to Asda about the controller and they said to wipe the PS4 and bring the whole lot down for a new unit.
Seems a bit of much as I'd have accepted some cash back and replaced the sticks myself but can't complain with that level of service.
I might even get a free game out of it as I don't think they do the stand alone console anymore.

I know but I'm playing Diablo from disc just now and the rest can download when the console is on standby so it shouldn't be too much of a hassle.
They can't give you a partial refund; either you'll get an same-value replacement or a full refund. The TLoU bundle is £349 at the moment which is presumably the same price as what you paid originally so it might be worth asking for that as a replacement, but they might just give you a solo console or a full refund.
Same here, small split in the rubber but I also have a sticking O button which is seriously irritating. I bought my PS4 online so I ain't sending the whole console back. I will send the broken pad to Sony and go buy a second one as I've read the turn-around for a replacement can be two weeks.Dammit! The rubber on my left thumbstick has split.

what number did you ring? both of my controllers are now worn out and sure r1 seems broken.
I just got the number of the store I bought it from on their website and called that.
The rubber in my left thumbstick (launch day controller) went after a recent Resogun session. It looks like i've gauged a dent in it with a fingernail, but I reckon it happened slowly over time.
Bit annoyed, using my 2nd controller for now, as the "tear" is where I rest my thumb on the stick.
No way I can be bothered to return the whole thing to the high street retailer.
Anyone had any joy by doing it over the phone with Sony direct? I am happy to send it off and wait for a new one as I have my second one.
