*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

For a console, a physical disc is the only purchase that makes financial sense. No-one plays a game forever, and at least you can sell it and recoup money towards another game when you get tired of it.

I pick based on price.

I got kill zone digital version for like 69p or 99p.

At the time it was like £20+ on disc. There is no way I could have got the disc and played it and sold it on with only a 69p loss.

The last of us off cdkeys us account was £6-£9 iirc. At the time was £25 for the physical version.

Some games I also account share so it makes sense to buy them digitally rather than 2 physical copies.

I have a mix of physical and digital.

Think I got a lego game on the US account for £4 a couple of months back too whichwas around £25 here.

Therefore no a physical version isn't the one that always makes financial sense.

The cheapest option does and sometimes that is digital.

Cdkeys and us store sometimes have ridiculous prices.

Exactly this. It's all about cost of ownership (sorry, are we in Motors?). If I can get a game for £10 from the US store, I'll get that. Yes I can't resell it but I'm unlikely to be able to get it from the UK for a similar price, and when it is around that price by the time I've completed it and passed it on I'll be looking at getting a negligible amount anyway.

You have to change your consoles region. Google it, it's quite easy.

You don't have to do anything to the consoles region.

You need to make a US PSN account which then allows you to buy from the US store. You activate your console as the US PSN accounts primary console, which lets all other accounts on the console access games that belong to the US account (so you can buy games with the US account, then play the games with your usual UK account).

The easiest way to load money onto the US account is to buy the pre-paid vouchers from Amazon.com, they do instant delivery of codes by email. If you need a US postal address for Amazon you can get one from Borderlinx for free.

It's actually easier than ever to buy from a US PSN account.

Anyone use or used a steering wheel on their PS4? Thinking of getting my bro one for xmas. I have ruled out the Thrustmaster T80 as it seems a bit basic and doesn't have force feedback. Next in line seems to be the T100 but not sure if it's end of line as doesn't seem readily available in many places. Is there anything else to consider in the same sort of price range? I know there's the T150 but it's a bit out of my budget.

That's lousy. They finally make a multiplatform game that apparently sold very well and then they go right back to tying them up with exclusivity.

Regardless of Kojima's previous success, game development is expensive and trying to start a new studio without backing is difficult. Presumably Konami retain the rights to everything including his Fox engine.

But anyway it's console exclusive, so I would fully expect it to be cross platform PS4 / PC.

Well obviously if you can find deals for that ridiculously low price then it makes sense to buy the digital, but clearly I am referring in general to average store prices. Context Sonny, context.

I strated Until Dawn, got to the cable car section and noped out of there becaus eof the jump scares, I haven't been back since.

Lol. I need to man up and play on.

I bought this to play through with a friend, so hoping the moral support will help. :D

Whatever the case, the new game seems to be at the very least also coming out on PC later. If they do some amazeballs cross-platform functionality, then I'll get both versions. Like I did with Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. There's been speculation as to what it is just basing off of KojiPro's new logo. Folks are thinking that since their old logo was for Metal Gear, this new logo is related to their new game. And gratz to Kojima for getting out of the gulag that was Konami. Now he's free to make games and perhaps even collaborate with Del Toro to make a cool movie or something. A Kojima produced movie would be interesting, he's got experience from having already made MGS4 XD

I guess £29.99 for GTA V is the best price we're going to get on the PS Store for a while?
It's above my £25 threshold for digital stuff but it's got to be worth it for the hours of play you can get out of it?

That's not that bad really for anyone who hasn't played it, most places are still selling it for just over £30.

I wish the assassins creed syndicate Christmas deal would have been better though, I want to get that but the psn deal was rubbish cosidering it was a lot cheaper at certain places for the disc.

Ive also been holding off on GTA5 for the PS4 I played it a lot on the PS3 but not to death, and its a title I would rather have instant access to via a digital copy.

Think I will just go for it now.
