So, those with the Portal, honest opinions, please? I will likely pick one up in the new year when it is back in stock, all the games I never seem to get around to playing single player I'd use it for it whilst in the lounge with the kids (My PS5 is in my office). Any regrets?
I love mines and literally just said to my wife I love it.

I play it exclusively in the house when the TV is on. I played spider-man (one) pretty much completely on it, say for an hour or so on the TV. I’m now on cyberpunk and Diablo 4.
Before I got it I hardly touched my PS5 tbh but now, nearly every night.
I’ve also got a steamdeck and I’m sure I can get remote play working on that but the portal is so comfy to use, lovely screen (even though isn’t OLED) and all the haptic feedback and fancy trigger stuff too. I’ve not switched my steamdeck on since I got the portal.
I only have 2 complaints and a wish.
Complaint - wish the sound had finer adjustment in low volume, but can be resolved with game master volume.
Battery meter doesn’t show % but three blocks instead
And I wish the put streaming of PS+++ games on it, I think that will come and if so, it’ll be an essential device and will drive sales for the top tier PS+.
If you want something to be able to play your PlayStation while your other half watches the TV, it is perfect.

Insomniac files still have not yet being fully explored so new leaks may still come

We have a new one, press F for resistance fans.

Insomniac was working on Resistance 4 but it got cancelled.

Insomniac was also working on Sunset Overdrive 2, but it also got cancelled. The first game actually managed to make a profit, but Microsoft currently holds the right to a Sunset 2 and 3, so it's unlikely we'll see a Sunset game ever again

27min of wolverine gameplay here. It already looks really good!

I was worried it would be a reskin Spiderman but it looks really good, it's more of a god of war

I’ve got this arriving tomorrow. 1TB with heatsink for 83.99. Don’t know if that’s good or not.
Yeah, it's really good. I have the 2TB version with a heatsink, I tend to have the majority of my games stored on the 2TB rather than the PS5's internal storage but no complaints from me since owning it!

The Resistance news is a kick in the stones. Been wishing for years that they'd bring out another. :(

I would have even settled for a remaster of the original trilogy.

The biggest revelations from this leak, for me, are as follows :
1. Sales for 1st party AAA titles are smaller than I'd imagined eg. Ratchet & Clank 2.34 million, Demon's Souls 1.84 million. Spider-man 2018 is Sony's biggest selling title at 22 million, which is very good, but is dwarfed by some of Nintendo's exclusives, for example, Animal Crossing ( 55+ million ) and Mario Kart ( 50+ million ).
2. Given the above, it is clear that many players are using their PS5 to primarily play stuff like Fifa, CoD and Fortnite. This is where Sony makes the bulk of its revenue ... not from the sale of 1st party titles. This matches the evidence given during Microsoft's ABK takeover trial, and explains why Sony are so scared of losing CoD revenue.
3. Physical sales are dominating digital sales ( for 1st party, AAA, AA releases at least ) - which is in stark contrast to the narrative being flouted by various sources, including Sony, on social media.
4. PC sales of Playstation titles are poor. Will this impact future releases ?
5. Insomniac is now a de facto Marvel game developer for the next decade. Could MCU fatigue torpedo the studio ? That said, both Wolverine and X-men are hugely popular. But look what happened to Square Enix/Crystal Dynamics with the Marvel Avengers GaaS title.

What are people using for added m.2 storage?

I’ve got a GIGABYTE AORUS 7000s M.2 with Heatsink - 1 TB.

Been using it for about a year with no issues. Was a reasonable price too, about £120. There were other drives advertised at about £100 but at the time I purchased mine, nobody had them in stock. Happy with my Aorus so far but obviously can’t really comment on longevity with it only being a year old.

Overnight share prices and company values of China's largest gaming companies like Tencent, NetEase etc have fallen by up to 30%

This is because the government introduced a new set of laws to curb how much money is spent on online games. Here are the new rules:

* Online games must meet the spending cap, players cannot spend over the cap.

* Online games must ban daily or any login rewards.

* Players who stream their games must not be able to receive donations or tips.

* Game mechanics with lucky draws like loot boxes are banned. Games can only sell items directly to gamers, no probabilities or luck mechanics allowed.

Was play the first god of war on my ps5 last night.

I unlocked a trophy in game but it didn't play the trophy unlock sound like I remember on my PS4.

Is this normal ? How to I get the sound back ?

Honestly, these 2 should be standardised across all games and the entire industry.

I agree. There is one other rule I think is needed: all store items must be priced in the local currency, e.g anything you buy in game should be priced in pounds. Games should never sell artificial currency to players that's then used to buy items

There is online games where you have to buy diamonds currency with pounds, then convert diamonds into platinum at a vendor, then exchange platinum for titanium and use titanium to buy items in the in game store. Pure ridiculousness - it's done this way to make it harder for players to understand what they are getting for their money
