Apparently the stand aids cooling but if that's the case even more reason why it should have been included at no extra costSeems quite stable vertically without the stand. Horizontally also fine, with the included plastic feet.

nah, the fan is in the fat part.Apparently the stand aids cooling but if that's the case even more reason why it should have been included at no extra cost
Yes it's still an issue in some games according to digital foundry review. You guys think the cpu will be an issue?
Which is equally disingenuous. Should really read "enhanced by pro", if in fact nothing has been modified, code-wise, and it's just a simply the extra grunt.
e: in fairness "enhanced for pro" were my words and the tag on the PS pages is "PS5 Pro Enhanced". So eh.
Yeah but I think it has vents at the bottom too so the stand may help it stay cooler (but probably not crucial otherwise it would have been included)nah, the fan is in the fat part.

Early days, but sounds quieter than my UFO.Austin has tested the PS5 pro to be about 4 decibels louder than the normal ps5 slim which is disappointing as I was hoping for a quieter console or at least on par with the slim.
I appreciate there will likely be variance from console to console with different fans etc but it being louder is disappointing.
I went for this oneNow to fit the disc drive I guess...and decide if i want to spend another £25 on a stand
Would look a little better with some dusting.....Seems quite stable vertically without the stand. Horizontally also fine, with the included plastic feet.

Can report the m2 swap works. May need to restart the console, and games will sit in library rather than the 'home' page until you start them.I was going to do that, but I figured it would take a while. I needed to transfer the data from my daughter's PS4 to my PS5 and my PS5 to the Pro. A small chain but just want to do it as quickly as I can.
That’s good to hear. I don’t mind the noise of air being pushed from a fan, but the ufo frequency was horrible from certain fan types.Early days, but sounds quieter than my UFO.
Mine was quiet. But haven't had any time to get stuck in.That’s good to hear. I don’t mind the noise of air being pushed from a fan, but the ufo frequency was horrible from certain fan types.
What’s coil whine like?
I'm a bit annoyed that they changed the USB A on the front to a (only USB 2.0 speed mind you!) USB C on the front considering the official pulse headset adaptor is USB A.
Either make it faster or leave it alone
Yeah I noticed this too. Damn annoying. Might havw to buy a usb extender or somesuch for the pulse receiver.it is an issue for me on OG PS5. cutouts etc, sitting only 2m away from it.
I hear you. I was in the wait and see boat too. I've only jumped, perhaps foolishly, based on the Very discount. I'm not so sure whatever discounts may come in the future, the pro will drop below £560 at any time.Nothing has been modified because no matter what they do, they can't just rewrite the game to account for the Pro still running on Zen2. That's the update they put out and that's what you can expect further down the line in CPU-bound games, that's why "futureproofing" with the Pro on release is IMO a waste of money (especialyl thinking about GTA6 which is ways off) and people should've jumped on it in 2025 with better deals and more games to actually show if it can make a truly tangible difference, not "it can sorta run AW2 at 60fps with drops and slightly less blurry image with visual artifacts but if you want some basic RT you're back to 30fps". There'll be games that run great but they'll be first party titles most likely and so far there aren't any on the horizon, what you get is the option to play 1-2-year-old games at slightly higer fidelity and if someone wants that, then fair play.
IMO, they should've put that 100$ into the CPU instead of the SSD, you can always expand the memory. I don't suppose it'll become a widespread problem but it will definitely manifest itself in select games.
SH2 on the latest patch doesn't run so hot either so we'll see about the actual Pro patch and what it changes.
Saw this, and noped outFor the same money Sony want I see you can buy a stand complete with built-in cooling fan and RGB etc.
Looks terrible though
