I have mine all setup now. Drive install and ssd swap went nice and easy. Games updated and currently copying from the nvme to internal storage. Mine is nice and quiet. The drive is even quieter than my original and the fan is as well. Treated myself to a Dualsense Edge as well. I could have bought the anniversary edition for the same price. Actually that would have been without the drive. Will be having a play shortly after food. And then I will be on the PS5 Pro! :D

So PS5 experience so far is far superior to Series x.

The app is better. The controller is great. Astro playground is a fun little game.

Think I’ll finish some of the games I bought on series x and sell it on, but I’ll give it til new year.

Actually feel like I’m having fun on this, rather than the series x that made me feel like I should just be playing my computer.

I don’t have any old games so not too fussed about not having a disc drive yet. But will pick one up to play games I’m less likely convinced to keep around.

Had a little time to play on the Pro, fired up Bloodborne with the PS4 enhancements enabled, does look a little sharper but didn't really notice a lot else. Next fired up Horizon Forbidden West using the Performance Pro (think that's the one....), I mean the game already looked good but damn at 60fps it looks good and feels even better. Also tried Spiderman Remastered with the recommended Performance Pro mode and enabled the 120Hz display mode, again game looks amazing and feels so smooth to zipping around the city.

Had my TV on mute as well, couldn't hear the fan in my console sitting around 1.5-2m away from it but it was only on for 30-40mins so probably not had time to get up to temp.

Pro might be £700 but for me totally worth it with the extra smoothness it brings, shame it doesn't seem all games can be run at 60fps but I'll take what I can get.

I’ve grabbed Horizon. Need to give Spider-Man a go. Mine is silent, I’ve not sat there with my ear to it, like some do, but why would I? Pretty happy overall!

Thanks what 8k tv you got by the way?
Setup is a few years old but it's a 75" QN900B and the Q990B . Sadly the soundbar doesn't have hdmi 2.1 , so no 4k@120hz or 8k pass through.( Have to disable e-arc on the TV to get those working ) . Strange choice by Smashing as I'm sure they're both flagship models at the time, so you'd think they'd accommodate each other .

I've got a Philips 8k sync box coming though so maybe that'll solve the issue.

Played about 1 hour of HZD Remastered and Astrobot. HZD Looks amazing. Hoping HFW is cheap in Black Friday sales.

Once I went back to the dashboard after the session I could notice that the fans were on, quieter than PS5 but still noticeable in the dashboard. There was quite a bit of warm air around the sides as well, again less than the PS5 after a similar session.

Pro arrived safe and sound this afternoon, disc drive installed and SSD moved over from my PS5, everything went off without a hitch.
It definitely seems quieter than my launch PS5 to me. Not got fully stuck in as yet but had a brief look at a few games. HZD Remastered, Astrobot, Spidey 2 and FC25, smooth and slick (77 inch LG C3)

The only thing I'm not keen on is the white, I had black plates on my PS5 and I'll get some for the Pro as soon as they become available (I thought Slim plates would fit but apparently they don't)
