GTAV is definitely improved somehow. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's a game I've spent so many hours on. Either the movement/fps is higher or the resolution is higher or the RT in Performance RT mode has somehow improved. I have the PS4 game boost option on, but I'm playing the Native PS5 version so that shouldn't make a difference.

If anyone could load up their GTAV on their Pro and try the Performance and Performance RT modes and check themselves at some point, that would help satisfy my curiosity!

Yeah that's annoying. Always a bit risky buying a brand new product it's pot luck if you get something without any problems. Hopefully they'll exchange it. My fan noise seems to be better but maybe I'm just getting used to it!
My slim bedded in after a week or two.. or maybe it was my imagination. But it seemed to run quieter after some time.

I have got it vertically but I’m using the official stand.

I think I’ve got a Friday build as aside from the loud fan my Ethernet port isn’t flush which means the Ethernet cable doesn’t fit in all the way. If you look at the port there’s a gap between the exterior plastic and the port itself.

I appreciate that I’m extremely picky but I’ll be contacting Very to see if I can exchange it.

Here’s what I mean. First pic shows a gap and the second shows how it should be flush

Mine is the same. I can see older ethernet cables having issues (cables where the rubber/plastic cover has hardened).

I switched to an ethernet cable after getting poor wifi speeds with my Ubiquiti U7 Pro (30mbps download speed).

My Pro also sounds louder than my launch model PS5 when playing games. While in the dashboard, the fan is almost silent.

I was playing Yakuza Zero (PS4 game) last night, the fan sounded like I was playing a PS5 game (my launch model was almost silent when playing PS4 games). I did have the PS4 enhancement turned on, I will try turning that off and see if it makes a difference.

Edit. Tried Yakuza Zero again this morning, not as loud as last night (maybe it was too warm?) but still louder than launch model when playing PS4 games.

Setup mine last night, installing the disc drive from the slim was easy.

Over the LAN transfer only pick up three games from my PS5 Slim  I had to re-download most games on my Pro

Only tried FF7 Rebirth with Versatility Mode, which gives 60 FPS like Performance Mode but with high resolution equivalent to its Graphics Mode. Plays very nice! :)

Will try Astro Bot and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered over the weekend.

You're not alone. All ports look recessed slightly.

Strange worked just fine for me, did you have games installed on the expansion M.2 slot, those didn't transfer for me and I had to move them to the internal M.2 slot* to move them over? Of course, if you had stuff on the expansion M.2 slot you could just install that in the Pro.

*I installed a 4TB NVMe in the Pro and left the 2TB drive installed in the OG PS5 to sell with it.

Ah, thats makes now! I never knew. Thanks.

I wondered what was going on when I transferred from my OG PS5 to Slim. It transferred everything over but my all my PS5 games was on the internal storage back then.

Checked this morning. Mine is the same.

I plugged a cable in. It works, feels solid. Not worried.

I have a tip. If you have a pro and have not tried Ratchet and Clank then what are you waiting for? My god it was a fantastic looking game before but looks incredible now. The detail level even on performance pro is amazing. Getting up to over 100fps at times and VRR works very well. The fluidity and definition gives the game an incredible look. Well worth checking out. I can’t wait to give Stellar blade a go.

Thanks, forgot I had this game on release! Will give it a try.

So I have had a good bit of time with the Pro and I love it. I don't think that the reviews do it justice as it affects a lot of games. One of them for example is BF2042, it now barely drops below its top resolution threshold which means when you are playing it (I play it a lot) the image looks loads cleaner and much more like the PC equivalent, even my mate mentioned that the witcher 3 has the same, again DRS in play and less scaling.

Dragon age is a huge step up in performance mode, so have been playing a lot of that and I will get a good play with everything this weekend so will report any further findings.

Also, fan noise. Success. There was a hum which was annoying me despite being low volume, I woke this morning and tried rubber o-rings, but no success, in fact more noise. But then I tried it without the covers and noticed it pretty much vanished, so I tried bending the cage top (metal part) which is just under the cover as I figured it must be some kind of amplification or resonance and hey presto its now virtually gone, certainly not an issue in the slightest anymore :-)

I'll probably sell mine to them too. They're usually a hassle free experience for selling at least, though they do stiff you a bit on the price.
Aye, I'm sure so but it's the "hassle-free" bit where the value lays. I never have the patience or time to attempt to use ebay or other venues. I'm happy overall though, especially so considering I got the Pro at the price I did.

Now I just need to invent some patience and wait for the hopeful BF deals, both for plus extra and a BG3 sale. (:
