I would just use the NVME drive if you have one. Was way faster.Transfer not working for me, I have both consoles connected via a lan cable, it's saying it can't find the console, grrrrrrrrrrr!

I’m going to remove the fan. And accept that the pro will shutdown automatically when it reaches critical temps. It’s slightly less quite than what my ps5 slim digital was, but this sums in it up, silent on the dash, but games the fans kick in some what but at a steady level not to be off putting.
So can system updates improve things like this from what you are saying?
It's actually higher iirc cause it has unlocked frame rateMetaphor: ReFantazio - is now butter smooth 60FPS
They definitely could improve this via software updates if they wanted. The fan runs at the same speed whether I'm running Minecraft or Allan Wake IIIt’s slightly less quite than what my ps5 slim digital was, but this sums in it up, silent on the dash, but games the fans kick in some what but at a steady level not to be off putting.

One way to do it...I’m going to remove the fan. And accept that the pro will shutdown automatically when it reaches critical temps.
It’s on a smaller chip (DF think either 4 or 5 nanometer) compared to the PS5 Amateur models so it should by nature have slightly better thermals - but they’ll be putting similar power levels through it (230w ish) at full beans so it won’t be whisper quiet.Sorry but the ps5 pro was never going to be a quiet machine was it? More power same design same fan design it was never going to be quieter? I can't ever remember a playstation being quiet tbh
Smaller fan apparently.Sorry but the ps5 pro was never going to be a quiet machine was it? More power same design same fan design it was never going to be quieter? I can't ever remember a playstation being quiet tbh
1000% agree on this, I’m playing the remaster at the moment (looks so so good on the Pro) and it just reminds me of why I prefer the first game to FW.I started the horizon zero dawn remaster tonight. It’s glorious so far.
I kind of prefer the original to forbidden west to be honest.
OG PS2s were insanely quiet, the slim/super slim models that came out later were awful for noise.Smaller fan apparently.
And the ps1/2 were super quiet.

It’s gonna happen when clicking on the game icon. Baldur gate 3 ? Completed it mate. That might happen in the first cut scene or even in the middle of installing a new firmware!

FireWire! Something I hadn’t even thought about for years and years, I remember the ports on the MacBooks for those as well.Original PS2s were definitely not quiet, later revisions were as they got quieter fans (around the time they removed the Firewire port from the front) but the earlier ones like mine are quite loud.
Form over function unfortunatelyNeither can I, which is why I can never take people who say their playstation is dead silent seriously.
It’s not an issue though, it’s still perfectly fine noise wise, but it makes me wonder why Sony can’t perfect the noise levels after all this time, compare it to the Xbox series x, that machine is a work of art when it comes to cooling and silent fans.
