I did not suggest he should do that just the one that came with my PS5 was crap. I had black screen and other weird issues with it. I used some cheap but decent certified Kenable ones which solved all my issues.
The included PS5 lead is only rated to high speed and not Ultra high speed and although it should be fine as it’s short it clearly was not in my case.
I know you didn't, but some people would. Remember people being conned in Curry's for £100 HDMI cables, I think Monster was the brand.
But they worked they had a Demo and everything…..lol..

The year was 2008, and I was buying my first LCD TV which was a Sony and a very high spec one.
I made my purchase in Curry’s and not being as clued up as I should have been, I was taken in by the sales person who sold me a couple of gold plated top of the range HDMI cables for £89.99 each. They were indeed Monster branded.
Still have them. Still use them. But yeah, to my eternal shame I’m one of the people who bought Monster cables in Curry’s!

I don't think I'll ever play Plague on PS5, I tried Forbidden West and 30fps mode was unplayable for me, VRR 40 I found surprisingly good. A vast difference in smoothness because of the frametime.
Not quite 60fps but I found it very playable and pleasant even for someone used to 60fps.
I can see myself playing some games in such a mode and Horizon doesn't even use LFC if I'm not mistaken. The game looks pretty amazing even in performance mode anyways.
VRR in Plague isn't very good on PS5 so being stuck with 30fps is a pass, I'll wait till I go back to PC.
The only game I'm willing to get used to 30fps again for is Bloodborne.

I just payed through The Medium which is 30 fps. Was a bit jarring at first but I got used to it. Shame about Plague Tale as I loved the first one. Was going to day one it but I’ll wait for a sale now. The first game got patched to 60 eventually maybe they’ll do something in the future.
30fps can feel different depending on the game, it's not impossible to get used to if one only focuses on one title and doesn't switch to something running at 60fps but it'll be jarring for a while. I don't think I'd play Returnal at 30fps for example.
In Horizon 2, the Quality mode is absolutely pointless IMO because both VRR Balanced and Performance feel vastly superior with little sacrifice in visuals but the problem with Plague is that it's not even 4k at 30fps, it's 1440p that can't even hold steady 30fps and VRR won't help much in such a case.

Definitely. I played through Red Dead Redemption 2 at 30 on my PS5 earlier this year and it ran so smoothly it was fine. I’ll have a read up on A Plague Tale to see what impressions are like. I don’t own a PC anymore so I might have to just lump it or leave it alone.
I played the medium on my pc thought that was a good game made my the blooper team if you havnt played one of their other games the blair witch I’d recommend that for a single player late night play through

Game was not bad - shame the trophy system is bugged to death - I mean, that is 101 - If your "unmissable, story related" trophies aren't popping correctly, then you've got a problem
