Ps + subs 25% off on Sony Playstation.

I stacked another 12 month essential (£37.49) sub and then upgraded my almost 2 years to extra for £49.32. Extra until 10/2024.:)
Cheers for the reminder with this. Upgraded remaining 6 month's to Extra plus stacked another 12m on top. Demons Souls, Metro Exodus and Returnal here I come! Hopefully some further classics in the coming year.

It's a bit annoying how they change your subscription to auto-renew when you buy another year of PlayStation plus with no option to opt out. Don't forget to cancel the subscription afterwards if you don't want auto-renew.

I screwed myself a bit by redeeming a free 1 month PS Plus code and I can't upgrade to Extra as I don't use a CC.

I have around two weeks of Essential left, can I just buy a year of Essential and convert all of that to Extra by paying the difference with PayPal balance or PS wallet or will that also require CC details?

Ive purchased PS gift cards from shopto and used my wallet funds to sub to 12months of essential, and yesterday I upgraded to extra using wallet funds as well.
I have not needed to register a CC at all. (well apart from buying from shopto;))

I had 11 months of essential left, and yesterday I stacked another 12months of essential and then I upgraded to extra.

Bought the £75 PS Store card on offer at Amazon (had amazon gift card to use) to activate the cut price PS Premium. Bit annoying that I couldn't just tack it on the end of my 1 month PS extra...only had options to buy the 12 months PS extra or upgrade to the 1 month PS premium, so in the end had to go the route of buying the 12 month PS extra then upgrading this to the 12 month PS Premium, which ended up costing +£1.50 on top. First world problems I know but I'm tight :D

Yeah, only 1 month subs require CC so buying Essential and upgrading to Extra seems to be the only option, I hope it'll let me convert without CC if I have 12,5 months of Essential.

If it works, I think I'll sell my copies of Returnal, GoT, DS and sealed FF Intergrade. A year should be enough to get through them and play some other stuff there with the added bonus of no disc shuffling.

Picked up Cyberpunk again, but this time for PS5. Don’t mind paying £20 for it. Haven’t played it since the 1.5 patch and no haptics on XSX, so decision made.
It was patched again this week which further improves console and PC performance. I never finished it for some reason so I need to go back to it at some point. When that will be who knows. There is some DLC on the horizon as well which I’ll probably get.

I only did the main quest and no side content, so there’s plenty I still want to try.

I think it does depend on what games you play; something like CoD I don't think the back buttons make much difference. For a game like OW though, where it was clearly designed for PC primarily, it starts to show some limitations to playing with a pad. For example, one of Lucio's main move mechanics is to wall ride but to do so you need to be able to hold jump and aim at the same time. It's possible on a standard controller with some weird uncomfortable claw grip but far easier with back buttons. I wouldn't say that makes me hardcore competitive for just wanting to play the game as designed but arguably it does, as it does give a competitive advantage over those who don't have a fancy controller.

Though I don't care about all the other stuff like fancy sticks etc. especially not for £200+ so I just fitted back buttons to the standard controller for £40 which is more reasonable.

I did this yesterday, bought a lot off Amazon, fitted to new controller, boom. Made me no better on COD but finally have jump and crouch in accessible buttons

Hmm, I'm second-guessing whether to actually grab a year of Extra now, I have the most important PS5 games on disc and there's only a handful of titles I'd really want to try and those can be had physically for pennies.

Maybe that money would be better spent on games that actually aren't on Extra like Legacy of Thieves and Rift Apart or maybe on some new release. All depends on where the service will go and what games are added.

I might actually drop plus altogether as I don't play online so even Essential is of little use.

Went into cex today as that was best price for selling r and c. Saw some guy buying a ps5 from there, don't know why anybody would, unless he'd been selling stuff for their instore credit.

I went through the entirety of the Legendary Edition at launch, and loved it. I hadn’t played them for years so had mostly forgotten it.
Was hoping it would pop up in a sale or something as I’ll definitely play it again at some point. Really pleased it’s come up on PS+!
Anyone who hasn’t played it is in for a great time, ignoring a few janky moments :)
