Well if Blu Ray fails to help sell the PS3 thats what might cause Sony Problems
I think their relying on the whole value more than a console scanario and it is good value but do people need or really care for Blu Ray right now.
Japan USA Europe could be all three terrorities that after the initial launch and Sony Fanbase purchase their systems the sales begin to slow way down because of lack of new exciting content or more to the point PS3 own exclusives...
I cant believe that Sony had the balls to hype the machine so much and come to the table with no big Franchise at the ready. GT-HD as a demo is a MAJOR blow to the system imo, over two years ago they talked of this and Sony Fans get a demo, thats bad particulary as the GT5 will be more than likely a Winter 2008 release.
I also feel we havnt seen the full urge for the 360 or Wii yet because both of those systems have big name titles due within the Spring/Summer and have the benifit of the lower price points. Not being anti Sony just it seems they are facing really tough competition and dont seem to have the amunition to back their own fight as well.
Consumers will make up their own mind now that the guessing will be over and its plain to see what each system has to offer and what it costs.
Lets not forget both Microsoft and Nintendo could come out with new value bundles and im sure they might have thier own announcements and updates for their online services for the Spring, they arnt going to sit still for sure...
Going to be an interesting year for gamers...
