But there is a fix though right :(

Yeah load the US machine game save on the jap machine before you play the game and bob is your uncle. Check out av forum and use the search. There is a save somewhere on that foum.

EDIT
Apparently there is more blood and gore than we see on the japanese one.

Just a throught, how should I connect to my hd projector/pc monitor? should I use hdmi? if so how do I get audio to my stereo/pc speakers?

480p?

Is it possible for sony to region lock games in the future? With the 360 developers can choose to lock games or not.

Ta.

The audio signal is carried through HDMI though isn't it? Or are you going to be using some sort of HDMI to DVI converter or something?

Yeah, it would just take a firmware update I suppose. The games actually have some sort of region stamp on the boxes too, so I suppose it's a possibility but then thats the risk you take when you import I suppose.

They have stated that they want the system to bee region free though and if they did region lock the games then they are opening themselves up to the mod chip market again and piracy.

What I do not understand is, if that was the case then why do their up most to block import ps3's to europe? Im not bothered if they do region block as most of the cool games come out of japan anyway.

Joebob, sort your sig out, it's far too big, or at least the one rotation where it's the massive grill one.

I spotted it as soon as I uploaded and sorted it, but thanks for the heads up. :)

I have the oppertunity to buy a US PS3, since I'm there and they have 60gig versions in stock. But I'm just not sure it's worht it. About a year ago I was eagerly anticipating the PS3, I put a pre-order down about this time last year at a local UK shop and still have it ready any waiting. But since then there's been so many issues.

Personally the lack of rumble in the controller is a big dissapointment. Immersion in a game comes from both input and feedback, they've taken away "feel" one of the three feedbacks they can easily acheive, leaving just visual and audio.

Blueray would be nice and I can get more US films without too much hassle but then I could go for HD-DVD's just as easily.

The price is still high at US prices, with an extra controller and a couple of games it's still going to cost about £425. There's not even that many games that grab my attention yet. Resistance looks alright but what else? I've never liked the US sports games and practicly everything else can be bought for the 360 (which I already have)
Are there any good games due for release this year?
How far off is Metal Gear Solid?

Is there something I'm missing? There just doesn't seem to be a big attraction.
