The official Ps3 thread

Once decent games are released then the PS3 will start selling.

By the time those games are released here, hopefully there will be a price drop :p

I doubt we'll see the next Xbox in 2010, if sales are still doing well (added with Sony mentioning that the PS3 will last 10 years (so I assume that means it will be supported for 10 years rather than 10 years before PS4)) then they are in no rush to release any further Xbox consoles

Maybe Sony will be the market leaders in 2010, but then i'll be on the next Xbox after the 360 and you'll be on old technology
So you're happy to buy a console with a four year shelf life then? Maybe you should stick to PC gaming if your happy to spend money on upgrading to so often?

I think youll find my reply was aimed at your opinion that the PS3 might actually do well, you were confronted with weekly news that shows the current state of the PS3 in already launched terrorities and announcements made regards games, delays and now another non exclusive bomb shell.

Sorry i warrant that as reason to ask are you sure your eyes really are open?
Your saying one thing im questioning it with available information, thats all.

Now to confront your last post...

Last i checked i still had my pre order available, if F1 or Motorstorm aint great i will cancel for the time being.
Youve noticed more talk regards PS3 i wonder if thats to do with yesterdays/todays offical announcement?

Why should i change the record, you bleedin fanboys chime on plenty about how great Sony are when just about every bit of evidence shows a company on the verge of stumbling further into problems and still continue to be the masters of spin and BS.

If they would at least get off their asses and deliver a game like GT which they promised over two years ago but OMG no FFS wont be around till more than likely 2008 thats making us lot out to be a pack of dopey ***ts if they think were going to continually keep supporting them. Some of you may not mind spending £400+ on a console and to wait about another year for the BIG games to appear but quite frankly thier will be plenty of other good games available on other platforms worth getting than investing in a Blu Ray player with some decent 360 games and the odd exclusive.

Still i do love your excitment and admiration, credit you all that
But why keep going over old ground about opinions raised in previous threads? We've moved on since then, have we not? I was merely stating that more people are speaking up for the PS3 now than there were previously and the chav thing was supposed to be humorous, have you had a sense of humour bypass op?

And when do I keep chiming on about how great Sony are? You, however do take the opertunity to mention how good MS are as often as possible!!! Actually you compare the 360 against the PS3 much more often than I do so if I'm a fanboy what does that make you?

Microsoft see the future not in an optical format even HD-DVD for instance but game downloads so im guessing their concern is in possibly allowing for larger HDD to attach to the X360 or networking your 360 games or Marketplace content from a PC with Vista and the upcoming Live Anywhere.
I agree that the future is downloading but I don't think we are any where near yet though. The biggest 2.5" HDD out at present is about 120Gb which would store about ten quality games, when a lot of people have much more in their collection and would be cheesed off if they had to keep deleting games only to download them again when they fancied playing it again.

I do. I reckon it will be released in late 2010 with full 1080p support and octo-core processors, DirectX 11 and things like that. Hehehe.

Has this been confirmed now then?

Yep very much so, the xbox1 was only 5years and its still cheaper (excluding ps3) to buy a new console than uprade your pc
