The official Ps3 thread

Some of you guys with a US copy of Resistance and a JAP PS3.
Are you connecting to the servers in Hong Kong or the US ones?
There was a thread the other day about the connection to the servers being determined by the region of the machine and not the software. I didn't think this was the case, i thought it was the same as the PSP, i.e. the Software decided what region of servers to get.
But i have heard now that if you have a JAP machine, you will connect to the server in HK for resistance, motorstorm, the first party titles, no matter where the software is bought. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
 
Hmmmmm interesting, think it is the possible Killzone 2 demo that was doing the rounds?
Could be there ready for EU launch.
 
IGN review gives Motorstorm a score of 8.9

Also, Phil Harrison's GDC keynote details appear to have been leaked , but i think it's best to assume this is fake. Only one more week until we know anyway... although a Killzone demo and trailer would be nice!

"Really, there are very, very few racing titles (or even games in general) around that deliver as engaging an experience as MotorStorm. There's really no better way to put it than that." :D

That leaked keynote, although we should assume it is faked, seems to me to be very probable as it is not fantastical in what it says
 
The one about the social networking?
I think it is true considering when kotaku published it, Sony went ape and removed all their GDC privilidges etc. Now they have made up, it kinda seems to make sense.
 
I am lucky enough to own a 360 and a PS3. I have purchased Call of Duty 3 for each. I have a 44" HD tele, which can do picture in picture/split screen. I am running both machines via Component cables.

So, I invited a few of my mates round so we could decide once and for all which provides the best IQ and gameplay.

We split the screen and had the consoles running side by side on the tele. The 360 loads the game quicker, the PS3 lags well behind! Then we started the games up. Dont get me wrong, the IQ for both games is amazing. After about 20 minutes of playing side by side, we played the console full screen, one at a time. We decided between the 4 of us that in our opinions, the best IQ and gameplay was.....

The PS3. 4 votes to nil.

My wife also noticed that the colours in the same parts of the game are completely different aswell ! Both are excellent, but the PS3 definately has the edge. Water looks much better in all games. Sound quality is equal.

Come on someone must have a jap console and a us game?

I read on another forum that sony are planning to network region lock the games to the console on 1.7 firmware, i.e buy pal motorstorm and you won't be able to play multiplayer as their are no jap servers due to it being single player in asia. I hope they dont otherwise it will just get hacked etc.
 
well hopefullt I will be able to test my copy of USA version motorstorm multiplayer when I get it sometime in the next 2 weeks.
 
Rumours? Warhawk now download only (apparently confirmed by incognito to ign...) For some reason, i kinda like my games as disc instead of downloads....especially if it is something this big.

No rumour mate think its 100% confirmed. Multiplayer only. I'd rather than than the game got canned tbh

And i should have my US motorstorm friday/Saturday. Depending when the nice canadian store send it to me :D
 
^^ Oh well, I guess all we can do is rant about it and what not etc. I have GOD HAND coming in tommorow but i have exams coming up.... :(

Oooh, I got Motorstorm pre-ordered in Canada too... I will have to blow the dust off my PS3 and get some serious racing done ;) - It's the dust I have to blow off it about three times a day anyway - not through lack of use.

Really? Every review says the 360 is loads better than the PS3 in this game..

hmmm :P
