Well shiney new toy syndrome kicked in and i bought a PS3 today.....Just walked in to a high street shop and picked one up.....Recently traded in 6 360 games and had £120 on gift card, so use some of that to buy Resistance and Motorstorm

Only set it up and updated the firmware, it's now downloading some Demos.....I haven't tried any games yet, kinda busy around the house just now so i will comment later on them.....Only thing i'd say i don't like is the weight of he pad, feels far too flimsy.

Anyway, PSN = KennyBhoy :)

Welcome to the club mate:)

Ill add you in a bit.

OMG! Just got so tempted! Popped into Tesco Extra! And saw the boxes there and the games cases and nearly folded!

Just thought to myself just wait and pop into town and go to the cd shop and get student discount! 10% off baby!

I thought I'd miss the rumble but I don't think I will. Although I haven't unboxed my PS3 yet, the same thing can happen on the 360. When your wireless pad is running really low on charge, it won't activate the rumble feature. I was playing NFS:MW and it wasn't until I'd quit the game and gone back to dashboard that I thought "That's weird. I had no rumble!" I honestly didn't notice when I was playing the game!

Hopefully, it will be the same with the PS3.

Just got home from college to find a large box addressed to me, opened it up and there's the PS3 box. Not opened it yet, as I haven't decided whether to return it. Also included was Xmen 3 on Blu-ray, and if i register quick, Casino Royale too.

At the moment I'm trying to justify the cost....

Nice mate let me know your ussername as i have F1 ill give you a game sometime:)

Mine arrived around 12:45. Havent really played with it much, been doing updates, downloading Folding@Home and a few demos etc. Just got round to having a quick blast on the F1 demo, and im actually quite impressed at how it looks even though in running the console in crappo-vision standard definition. Hopefully my cable may arrive tomorrow.

well i got mine this morning, cool console / BR player, looks as if it could be a nice web browser with bluetooth keyb / mouse also. all in im quite impressed,

looks nice next to my 360 too :)

seems my problems are down to a poor signal, I almost got it connected by moving the console and the things around it. I'll have to fork out £50 on a wireless access point to bounce the signal around the house :(

The console sure does get hot, much hotter than my 360.

Uggg the blutooth remote is the strangest thing ever.
I mean it is a great remote, it goes very very well with my Sammy remotes, but it is wierd to not point it at the machine when you press a button lol

I'm having a funny half-hour with Blu-ray films already. First one I tried, Stealth, and it wouldn't even recognise the disc. Upon second loading, it then spouted out an error saying it couldn't play it! WTF.

Thats interesting to hear - I just sat down and played Ice Age 2 with no difficulties at all

I was trying to be clever and just play the film and get the remote out of the packet while the film was playing - then realised you actually have to set the remote up in the XMB before it works (being bluetooth device rather than plain infra-red)
