Not particularly that, just the story in general.

It starts off promisingly enough, the mystery of being in a prison and the injured guy letting you go, but then you meet Steve who is an awful character. Doesn't he fall in love with claire after about 3 interactions?

The Alfred Ashcroft plot is ok to a point, but his sister just gets out of a cryopod and turns in to some super tentacle monster with no real development.

Oh and there's a bit where the Tyrant gets aboard the plane which makes no sense.

Does any of RE story make sense? I thought it was nonsense on purpose lol

Doesn't really need to make 100% sense. At least not back then.

I liked it personally. Not necessarily for the story, but i never had an issue with the story. I much rather that than story of RE6, 7 and 8 for example.

I noticed. They removed Code and just going with Veronica and using RE V. Maybe they want this to be the official RE 5. The other one and RE6 never happened lol. Work's for me :D

Have they their top team on it ? having it announced so soon after requiem and a 2027 release is giving me bad vibes, i remember re 3 remake being announced quite quickly after re 2, if we get a solid lenght similar to re 9 i will be happy, 5-6 hours like re 3 would be dissapointing

From what I've read, it's the same core team that worked on RE2 Remake and RE4 Remake. They have two core RE teams and the other primarily did 7, 8 and 9.

RE3 Remake is a bit of an outlier, development was largely outsourced to an external development studio outside of Capcom - M-12 or something (led by one of the original people who worked on OG RE1 and RE3).

the series has come along way from a game which is ... let's say "inspired" by Alone in the dark.

I wouldn't mind remasters of that series to be honest.

They started on it didn't they? One came out a year or so back.

edit: yep

I honestly think that's the best decision they could make for the series, RE5 was "okay" at best, but it was such a disappointing ending for a certain major character it was borderline criminal.

The least said about RE6 the better.

Retcon them both and go in a new direction after the upcoming RE:V.

I'm tempted to get an emulator and play OG CV in prep for this
Well I forgot how tedious older RE games were, only so many tank controls I can put up with and the slow doorway animations that take FOREVER :o

Will wait for the new Veronica lol.

the door opening in the 1st game I suspect was to hide loading screens on the ps1 slow cd drive. the 1st game was a series of set pieces linked by doors.
code Veronica was on a much more capable Dreamcast and didn't have that issue (from memory)

Well on the Dreamcast emu it's still a slow door animation lol, I recall the PS1 being even slower still on RE1.

I replayed the first RE on my PS1 the other month. It was even more fun when my CD drive started failing mid-way and the door loading screens got longer and longer and longer lol. I thought I was trippin' or something.

I have the original Code Veronica on Gamecube, does anyone know how this compares to the Dreamcast version?

Gamecube for sure. Better graphics and faster loading as I understand it.
