****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II ACCESSORIES Thread***

Well just got back from carphone warehouse on my lunch break, and have it installed already - still couldn't fit the damn screen protectors but that's another story lol! Anyway this feels much more sturdy, and may not even need a screen protector with a 2mm lip that this thing has!

Only thing I don't like about it is the top and bottom part of the case if it's in ur pocket and u pull it out, then it comes away which is a shame... My collegue sat next to me though thinks it's the worst looking case he's ever seen his life, he'd rather have a damaged phone than put something like that on it... lol

I'm not really sure how I feel about this phone after owning it for a couple of days; I'm torn between sending it back and getting this HTC Sensation.

The screen whilst very vivid and bright isn't all that great because there are very distinct grain/lines to pictures driven by the pentile matrix. The Desire uses the same pentile matrix and it doesn't have this issue.

The lock screen really is just awful, it looks awful and the ergonomics of it is even worse. The amount of times I've had to try and unlock the device multiple times because you really have to drag the whole lock screen picture to the edge of the screen and either my finger has slipped or I haven't quite held it close enough to the edge.

I've bought Widget locker, but this is just a work around and has flaws such as any button will unlock the device due to using root mode, which is a must to get around the 5 second pause bug.

The email client is actually better than I expected, you CAN set out of office messages but I absolutely hate the black background and white text. It just looks unpolished and nowhere near as professional and crisp as HTC Sense.

I'm using GO Launcher, GO SMS and GO Dialler and I think these are brilliant applications, functional and look great. The issue is, once you call someone you end up at the horrible Samsung caller screen that's a gradient between red and black...

Gradients just remind me of amateur web designers when they've downloaded their first copy of Photoshop from a warez site.

The hardware is exceptional, picture quality is brilliant but I'm not a massive gamer and I only really enjoy casual games like Cut The Rope and Angry Birds which I believe the HTC Sensation is more than capable of handling.

I also have some sort of issue with image quality, I know Facebook pictures are usually compressed until you open them in full view but even icons and screenshots on the Android Market look very blotchy. I think this could be down to APN settings though, I've not changed tariff or SIM as I bought the handset outright. Maybe the phone has set me up on a different APN that O2 are using to save people hammering their mobile net by compressing content? Who knows.

I don't know, I'm torn, I've told myself to ignore the cosmetic issues with the UI but it just doesn't feel like a polished device to me.

Unfortunately MUIU isn't really available in useable form for this phone, as that UI is much better and consistent...

I've noticed a lot of new GS2 stuff on mobilefun (especially cases, all the Sena/Zenus and Nilkin etc are on there) and I'll be getting this Exogear car holder when it's back in stock:

http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/exogear-exomount-universal-case-compatible-car-mount-p30552.htm

Especially like it because it can be used with a case and looking at the pics and video it looks like the construction is of a better quality than my DIY one but I'll be comparing it to the official Samsung car holder that costs a lot more.

Stay tuned!

I got one of those "genuine" Samsung flip top leather case things through the post today.

The "leather" smells like the inside of a ping pong ball.

Looks like it'll last all of 2 weeks before it falls apart.

And it opens upside down.

I sometimes wonder about South Koreans.

By that notion then:

- Satnavs should be banned.
- Car stereos should be banned.
- Speedometers should be banned (because in average speed zones you look at the speedo a lot more than keeping an eye on the road to make sur eyou're keeping up with the average speed zone).
- Any kind of display on the dash should be banned, dashboard controls should be thought controlled instead of being buttons too.

Do you see?

If you're crap at driving and being able to safely look at a satnav screen or adjust the stereo then you shouldn't be driving anyway.

I have voice activated bluetooth in my car and buttons on my steering wheel if I can't be arsed to speak.

But then again. I do drive an Aston Martin .....

What does the brand of car you supposedly drive have to do with anything with the topic? Multifunction steering wheels and Bluetooth have been on even Kia cars for ages.

I've often wondered why you don't see many Kia drivers texting whilst they're driving.

Then again , you don't see too many teenagers driving Kias.

USB OTG Cable arrived today:

And A video demoing the MHL cable:

I am impressed with it! A 1.2GHz dual core PC in your pocket it most certainly is!

Hi MRK

Can you tell me which micro usb otg cable
Its a nokia but on the rainforest its no good??

Dropped my phone last night, luckily indoors on carpet, and I had the genuine mesh case on. Phone is obviously fine, but it got me worried really that the mesh case "popped" off when it hit the floor, leaving me to think that if this happened on the pavement my phone would be badly scraped up.

What's others opinions on this? I'm actually thinking of getting the case mate tough now based on this, thoughts?

Same deal here as yourself and easyrider, dropped phone on stony concrete foot path and the Genuine Samsung case also pinged off and phone bounced a second time , i have a slight dent on phone but not really noticeable.

This morning during my early morning arousal (oh eh misses) I had my phone next to me. As i quickly grabbed it it flew out of my hand and hit the wall full face on and slid down and hit the laminet flooring..i thought dang thats it now but all is fine and no damage.:D so all those that say that the phone is not robust need to take a rain check on their views.
