****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II ACCESSORIES Thread***

Watching them learn and have fun is worth more than the phone.

Not quite sure I follow that somewhat idealistic logic. Buy her a cheap smartphone and let her play with that then. :p

Its a real shame the Official Samsung Case does not cover the ends of the phone

The one I bought in the OP protects fully, looks fine, and has the added benefit of being pretty making the phone much spillproof as the edges really hold tight to the side of the phone, such a close fit. Can't see me replacing it to be honest.

Here an accessory that may interest some of you...

Waterproof Bike Mount for Samsung Galaxy S2

Anyone like me who bikes would find that pretty invaluable I think! However, one thing worth bearing in mind is a post from XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14530970#post14530970

Be very careful.

If you are MTBing versus riding on the road. The vibrations are too harsh and cause issues with the internal connectors.

I personally have lost a garmin GPS and my HTC Polaris phones. First ride and within 15 mins started rebooting etc. Garmin stated to reboot with just fine knocks.

Warned a mate when he was mounting a iphone, decided to risk it and 5 mins his touchscreen failed. Another mate his iphone started to reboot.

Something to think about.

I would say my biggest issue was the application, yes. The picture clarity is stunning, very nearly as good as the screen without the protector. The lens protector for the camera is an excellent addition and has brought peace of mind. The 'feel' is also almost as good as the original screen, my finger glides over it easily.

However one other warning, something that doesn't bother me but seems to bother others a lot, is the fact that it picks up grease faster than a bare screen does. A quick wipe usually sorts it out, but it is noticable very quickly.

I'd be interested to see my one and a Martin Fields side by side... I doubt there's too much difference if any.

Case looks and feels great in the hand, feels very slim. Good quality leather and love the leather smell! Stitching all correct and present.

BUT... it's tight, a nice tight fit which will eventually wear down so phone glides in and out smoothly. To get the phone out you have to push it from below, I've noticed that sometimes the buttons when sliding in do press against the internal, again due to tightness which hopefully will wear away soon.

I like it, took 18 days to come from USA as I didn't ship it straight from Sena (heard I might get FedEx charging me VAT and such) so I ordered it to a mail forwarding company and got it sent out with the cheapest air mail option.

This will only fit the phone, tried putting my phone in with the Nillkikn case but refused to go due to the extra mm's it adds.

Overall a nice case, will be good for me when I know I'll be on my feet all day in my pocket and will provide decent body protection, phone fits both ways perfectly whether it be headphone jack up or charger side up.

I can't imagine anything less functional than what you are describing in that case.

What do we think is the best protector, apart from Martins Field? Never applied one before and I notice cheaper ones are usually 1-3 in the pack, whereas the Martins one is for just 1 and I am bound to mess up the application.

e-cell protectors, Post #3. They work a treat, very satisfied with them, and you get 6 in a pack. :)

e-cell ones are ass! I used 5 before rage quitting and ripping up the 6th.

1: Too many air bubbles
2: Too flimsy

!!

Weird how mine (on first application) had no air bubbles, and feels perfectly fine to the touch. WHat does "too flimsy" mean anyway... they are supposed to be thin and discreet. :p

3rd attempt got me a bubble free protector with the e-cell @ £2.45 so I have 3 spare.

Feels and looks ok but the front camera hole is slightly off...

Screen looks fine through it but it does get greasy...but as richdog said what screen protector doesn't.

3/5 for price and application...It does its job for the price....The camera hole is annoying but not a massive issue with me...At least until another one comes along

You will find that despite the slightly off lining up of the holes, the screen protector is one of the best cheapies out there. It's good in direct sunlight, doesn't scratch easily, and is very smooth on the finger. Yes it gets a bit greasy, but overall i'm happy with them and doen't see much point paying through the nose for the more expensive ones.

Like 15 quid!

Madness;)

There are some guys that are spending £25+ in an effort to find the "perfect" protector, as well as some muggins who pay 15 quid for one and then screw up the installation. Cost is all relative to the worth of what you're buying, and some of these expensive screen protectors are pretty bad in that department imo.

Even the Martin Fields and other pricey ones are getting moaned about on XDA due to fingerprints/grease.

I did a quick video of the Zenis dock, gives a better showing of the attach<>detach of the phone than the pictures before.

Link to dock in description :)

How much did it cost and from where mate?

EDIT - Never mind watching vid now, just seen it has info.

Other than fingerprints and slightly dodgy lining up, I can't fault the e-cell still...clean it once a day with alcohol here at work and it looks super. Readable in all coonditions too, very clear. So cheap for 6 that i'll replace them every month.

Hmm so does that mean it's literally impossible to scratch?

Yes, no known materialy ojn this Earth are capable of scratching Gorilla Glass.

It's difficult to scratch, and even a small scratch would look better than a screen protector/case. Unless you value the condition/looks of the phone for it's next owner more than when you have it I really don't see the point.

The phone costs more than some laptops and is much more fragile,a and considering how much unwitting abuse phones can be subject to, protecting them is basic common sense. screen protectors don't ruin the look of the phone and look much better than staring at a scratch day in day out.
