****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II ACCESSORIES Thread***

What are people using in the way of screen protectors?

I've seen conflicting comments on whether the Gorilla Glass needs one and then subsequently whether particular products are any good.

I've ordered myself a mesh case already but i'm undecided on screen protection.

Just got the Nokia car holder as seen earlier in the thread. It's fantastic, really tight fit and even tighter with a case on, but the phone doesn't move at all which is good. Can always cut away some of the pads that hold it in place as they are really thick. Very neat and tidy holder.

Now to just find a case/bumper I like!

Ah. You and mrk do make a good point though about cooling and heating over a vent. I'll have to see how it goes. It's just that the vent is the most convenient place for me to have it for eye contact and reach for sat nav and for .. erm.. browsing :p I never had a problem with my old phone that I can recall. But if the phone starts acting up, then I'll try a different mount.

Here's the links for two holders, the first link being one that is even more specific for the SGS2 as you have to use a dedicated silicon case that they supply along with the holder.

How have you gone on with this mount??

I've just had to return a window-sucker one coz it wouldnt stay on the windshield! (glass too curved??)

I assume the points at which it touches the phone are nicely padded to ensure no scratches etc??

why did you return it? could've just bought one of those tomtom discs that stick to the dash.

There isnt really room on my dash tbh - plus its a company car so cant really go sticking things to it!

The other reason was that the holder, while sturdy, was just plastic and didnt have any rubber "cushions" for the phone to sit on so it was a tad rattly!

It's for that very reason that I don't trust suction mounts.

Yep, I'm getting on great with mine. The side clamps are sponge padded (it's a firm sponge), plus I keep my case on as well, so no chance of my phone getting scratched from contact. You can see the sponge in this picture

Very secure and right at my fingertips. I'd recommend it. I've put it in landscape position now since that photo. It's good for having the 360 rotation and then you can lock it in that position.
