Well, I can't speak for his professional life but in his spare time he's a well known developer at xda (do a search for his username) with a fair bit of inside knowledge, and has contributed a lot for the community there, especially with regards to the sgs2. I wouldn't be overly surprised if he worked in the industry and had access to as yet unreleased devices.
