***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

You need more than 1280x720 because remember it's actually 720x1280 on the screen so it won't look right on your display. I would look for 1920x1200.

Unless you want that 1280x720 picture of a sexy lady rotated 90 degrees sideways.

I made a good jennifer aniston wallpaper from a Friends screenshot. It looks good in portrait but horrid in landscape :(

Nah, it is just every report that I have read and going by my friends battery life, it isn't great, hardly any better than the X and certainly no where near what mrk and gman is getting

I've read the opposite... almost every professional review and user feedback ive seen says the battery is good!

Depends on the lighting. Right now mine looks "grey" I just tried to take a pic with my old desire (i.e. blurry vision camera) and the flash made it the phone look more blue, but nothing like the almost purple colour that the original press release photos showed.

Hmm cheers mate... *strokes chin*.

Im starting to obsess about which to choose now, wish the Blue would hurry up and get in the shops here so I can see it in real life!

Tracking says mine left London last night and is now loaded in a van in Edinburgh to go out for delivery. It should be waiting for me tonight. :D

I haven't had an android phone before and know nothing of rooting.
Is it worth rooting it?

New firmware:

If you don’t yet have the OTA or don’t want to use Odin with the XDA download then you can grab it using KIES....

Your friend has a battery draining application installed or is doing something wrong then! My usage has been no different to the S2 although I'm giving the S3 heavier usage and multitasking just because it's considerably more effortless on such a big screen! Battery usage remains consistent. I know this has 100mAh more than the S2 but the screen is bigger so that difference sort of breaks even anyway although I did read somewhere that Samsung stated this screen is 30% or something more efficient than previous AMOLED screens.

I dropped mine last night (doh) and dinged the metal (look) edge. In a couple of months I don't think I would be too fussed but for now I want it to look pretty! Does anyone know if that edging is replaceable and if so where you can pick up parts? I have touched it up with some model paint and it doesn't look too bad but would like to swap it.
