Well back on CM9, my wifi wouldnt work on CM10.

Because you installed it wrong. You need to flash a stock ICS rom, complete the setup, turn wifi + nfc, then do a full wipe and install CM10. It's needed to roll back the nfc firmware to something compatible for CM10.

I cant be arsed with that messing around it wasnt exactly any different to CM9.

Will this way work without any more messing around?

Noob-proof edition through ODIN:
- Download this : http://codeworkx.de/download/cyanoge...-i9300.tar.md5
- Reboot your phone in download mode
- Put the previously downloaded file as PDA
- Don't tick repartition
- Make sure repartition isn't ticked
- Flash it

Hi All,

I'm new to the S3 and Android so have no experience of Roms, Rooting or Launchers so please bear with me.

Is there a way to easily get the stock Jelly Bean experience on the S3?

I have found that some keyboards/icons in TouchWhiz don't look that sharp so was keen to go for the stock ones, also I am not that keen on the Samsung icons for thinks like SMS compare to the stock ones.

How can I easily change this?

I know I can easily install the stock keyboard with an APK, si there anything like this for the phone's UI?

Hi hoogie,

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671969

That should tell you how to root and install a custom recovery

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1817345

That's a completely stock ROM, as if you had a Nexus device.

Other than that if you want to keep some Samsung features you can try wanamlite (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1705866).

It's worth bearing in mind that you may not like some of the roms so please read up on them before flashing!

Try clearing the defaults for the app that is opening YT links which, I assume, is the browser - Application manager> find the app> clear defaults.

Both YouTube and the internet browser apps have default settings because I am unable to press the clear defaults button. Not quite sure what's caused this it's slightly annoying. Thanks for the help though.

Looking at the potential issues with the Nexus 4, i'm beginning to have doubts that selling the S3 to swap to the Nexus may not have been that good of a move?

Just wait till it's out and see how it fairs the first few weeks by other users if you or anyone else are worried of this phone's performance/issues.

So many worried people lol. No one can answer any real questions on this thing until it's out and in people's hands.
