**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S22 Family Thread ****

:D

Been hammering the phone last few days and it's lived up to expectations.

Not had any issues whatsoever, quite surprised how good the battery is actually, getting 6-7 hours SoT no problem.

Kinda wish I got the Graphite one now though, oh well!

I've been hammering the phone myself today and had no stuttering or problems this coming from a Note20 Ultra which it basically is really but with new soc and better cameras happy to keep it

Really struggling getting my phone setup. System ui hung, reboot required. Running really slow during my WhatsApp restore (11gb). Google dialer crashing until reinstalled. Hope this improves

Massive difference to my 3-4hrs screen on time. Can you confirm your setup? Are you using the following

- QHD or FHD Resolution
- Adaptive Refresh Rate or the other option
- Dual or Single SIM
- Strong or Weak signal area

For me I'm running QHD with Adaptive refresh rate, dual sim with weak signal area and wifi calling for both sims. I might try tomorrow with it in flight mode to see what happens

Weak signal will contribute to battery loss especially dual sim.
When I am at work I get 2 bars at most, generally 1, but at home I can get full bars and this shows with my battery stats.

Doesn't sound good

Hmm, finding mine a little laggy at times, particularly when scrolling. I'll maybe do a factory reset see if that makes a difference. Failing that I'll return it for a refund as along with the lag there's my initial impression is that there's no particular aspect of the device that has bowled me over so far.

Things are definitely plateauing.

Using QHD with adaptive refresh rate. Single SIM and pretty much full signal on 5g.

Yes just says fast charging on this one but didn't seem overly fast.

Because 'fast' is just a reference to the standard being used to be consistent with prior Samsung devices. Samsung phones don't support PD for rapid charging so it defaults to a slower mode.

Fast charging = 15 W
Super fast charging = 25 W
Super faster charging 2.0 = 45 W

With a 5000 mAh battery, the 15 W mode is going to feel on the slower side compared to the super fast (PPS) modes.

How do you get the super fast charging? With the official power adapter?

I bought a Samsung travel adapter - wasn't expecting much after all the talk in here but it did the super fast charging 2.0 thing and halved my charge time over the OnePlus charger I plugged in first.

"Samsung FREE" app, is useless. Thought I'd see what the Samsung bloat is like (not had a Sammy since 2012) and this was awful, plays audio only, black screen and CAN'T BE UNINSTALLED OR DISABLED. FFS...

Looks like I'm one of the few without an issue so far. Fast charging however I'm not sure about as I dont use one and use a 5w charger at overnight ...
Skin arrived this morning and have installed, was pretty easy but had to get the hair dryer out for the curved edges to bond.

I have to say, whilst some online critics hate the back design with those Jumping Spider eyeball lenses, I think it looks so refined and quite possibly one of the nicest modern phone backs out there. IT has its own thing about it if that makes sense? You instantly know it's an S22 Ultra, there's no guessing whether it's a + or other Galaxy as the rest follow the same look between them.

That's no surprise really as OnePlus use their own fast charging system and any other device plugged in will slow charge as the OnePlus charger is not standards compliant with PPS/USB-PD.

Depends which OnePlus charger, as since the 8T they are PPS compatible upto 45W. Its been mentioned a few times here but only triggers Super fast charge 1.0 not 2.0. It should trigger 2.0 as it's spec is capable but it seems Samsung is playing silly buggers making an open standard gated.

Oh did not know that, that is actually evry good then, I do know that the cable matters too though, the bundled S22 cable isn't Super Fast 2.0 whereas the cable that comes with the 45W Samsung charger is - Could be that if you have not got the right cable?

I have had to order the Anker Flow III cable that was linked a few days ago here as my nubia USB-C cable has died today and is erratic when charging/anything/ it seems

£20 for a cable.... but at least it's a full spec quality cable. Have other Anker C cables that take up to 100W for the laptop etc and they have been excellent.

I'll see what mine says when it arrives and I charge using the nubia 65W and Anker cable.

Given that the OnePlus cable can do 6A it's well capable. And given the Spigen charger is 45W PPS and can only do Super fast charge 1.0 leads me to believe its Samsung that has caused a compatibility issue with 3rd party chargers.
