**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S22 Family Thread ****

I've come from a OnePlus 8 Pro to the Ultra. It's not much of an upgrade tbh, and feels like a brick compared to the OP that I keep picking up for the occasion notification from an app I haven't set up yet.

The screen though, is ****ing amazing. It's the reason why I wasn't happy with the OP 2 years ago and I'm now happy with having a uniform screen from low brightness to max. The OP was awful and I should have sent it back originally, but they fooled me into thinking software updates would fix it.... well I'll never buy their **** again. So yea, I'm sticking with the massive brick, with questionable performance and battery for the price. I hate Samsung for the crap they put in their phones, and the insane price but my go to option of the Pixel just seems iffy for now.

I was happy to plump up the cash for the S22U for the screen, 4 years updates and S-pen options.

Now, how to get a choice of assistant when holding down the power button?! Bixby, nah..

I used Amfilm which is same installation got bit of dust in top corner but really hard to spot will swap when and if gets marked

I've used both (one for me and one for wife's phone) both are the same product basically. The Amfilm is a little thicker I think.

I've got the Whitestone Dome kit, but debating whether to send it back. I cba with the drama of installation and also with the clear view case, likely to get a lot of dust around the edges. Will think about it for a week and see how the films plays with the pen and case cover.

Ah yes of course!

You will need to install the Google Assistant app off the store then just click open an app when holding the side key option and choose it.

But if the phone is doing everything you want it to & not slow or laggy, then do benchmarks really matter?

I think its more a case of trying to understand if he has an issue, those single core scores are low, lower than my Note 10 Exynos, suggests a problem, now if there is a rouge app it will be munching through the battery, so you want to get to the bottom of it really, also, if it is bad build quality say the new cooler design they have done in the S22U is not properly attached then you might get throttling so you would want to understand that as it could potentially lead to a failure so it does warrant investigation.

Is there a good task manager to see per apps CPU usage and temps?

But first you need to check performance when things like adaptive battery are off as it could have put it in power save mode capping CPU etc, maybe enable enhanced processing to see if it might be the case that the software isn't seeing the app as requiring full performance and see if that changes things, if it does then it is probably aggressive power saving and software fixable but if it doesn't and you have closed all apps you might have a hardware problem.

1138; 3269 here on wqhd+, so no issues here on my 512gb Ultra.

On another note, there are plastic protectors on the metal bits top and bottom of the phone, are those meant to come off? :o They seem to be stuck well on not like the usual peel off bits.
