*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S6/Edge Thread ***

Mine has a Samsung sensor. Which explains why the photos are somewhat washed out and not as detailed as I'd thought they should be. Not happy at all.

How do I find out what sensor mine has?

I got onto the test menu by dialing *#0*# but I couldnt find any information on what sensor it has in there.

Thanks

I love tech.

We are NOW eligible for upgrades. Yay

My phone has just stopped charging and the wife's has just stopped ringing.

Do they know!!!!!! Is a conspiracy!!!

Anyhow just arranged 2 S6 Edge's as now we are desperate (need them for work)

Anyone know the best way to get our info etc off our S4's and onto the new phones without having to reinput all our email info (7 email accounts) etc.

What software is it to check?

I've tried searching for camerafirmware and camera firmware on the play store but can't find it.

Anyone got any favourite aftermarket roms yet? I'm thinking of playing around...

EDIT2: Looks like ROMs are very limited at the moment... at least on XDA Devs forum

EDIT: Nevermind... Code to test it: *#34971539#

I have Sony on the rear and Samsung on the front. The image quality on the rear is rather impressive for a phone... good step up from the iPotato 6+

It would be interesting to know where people bought their phones to see which countries or suppliers got Samsung and which got Sony cameras.

Just pulled the trigger on an EE upgrade for the 64GB S6 in black. 4GB 4G extra, unlimited calls and texts £43.49 with £79.99 up front. The only thing I'm really kicking myself over is the Samsung store (partnered with CPW) offered the same price but they supply unlocked phones with BTU ROMs. I only remembered after accepting the upgrade, so I'm deciding whether to just flash a BTU ROM from SamMobile and unlock the phone later if/when needed or just cancel the upgrade and go back to Samsung/CPW.

My trusty M7 has been without any case/cover/skin for two years and survived admirably. I don't think the S6 would fare the same. What's the next best thing to being naked? I just want to protect the camera and glass so something like a slip on skin I suppose.

Guess chances of Active version being released in the UK are very close to zero, shame as that rumoured 3500mAh battery would have me sold as I don't need a thin phone.

Your options are case with screen protector or use a pouch.

I prefer the pouch option as it gives you somewhere to rest your phone and protects it while your pocket/bag. The downside is the phone is slippery so if you have butter fingers you are likely to drop it at some point.

You can't really have a slim case as the camera sticks out quite a bit.

Also, Google 'computrace & EE' :(

After looking at the comparison images from sammobile of the two sensors again I have the say the Samsung sensor looks better to me.

Colours look more accurate and according to person who took them they are, ISOCELL images look a little lighter and it seems to deal better with light light areas a little better.

The Sony sensor seems to capture a little more detail, however colours seem off and images seem to have too much contrast
