Really struggling to find a decent glass screen protector for the S6. Tried 3 so far, 2 are not quite wide enough and the other lifts all round the edge. Grr.

Which ones have you tried?

Prior to getting the S6, I had a Nexus 6 and ordered a iVoler tempered glass screen protector for that and it was much better than the techgear one I've now got for the S6.

The Techgear one is too thick and there's a cloudy looking effet about 1mm around the edge, the iVoler one for the N6 didn't have the same issue.

Annoyingly, the iVoler has received bad reviews on Amazon from idiots who don't realise tempered glass protectors can't cover 100% of the S6 screen due to it being curved towards the edges.

I'm in two minds about whether to get a case for my new s6 edge, it's such a pretty thing and watching the crash tests they seem to consider it rather sturdy.

Anyone got an extremely strong opinion on cases for or against it?

The phone is quite slippery so a case will add a bit more grip and give it a nicer feel in the hand. It keeps the back flat so no wobbling while on a table.
I went for the neo hybrid, that one also improves the buttons.

Id say its worth getting one, even just a cheap clear one thats easy to remove. Have a look at Ringke and Spigen cases on the jungle.

OK I'll try the neo-hybrid out, its on prime so I will get it tomorrow, going to try the : Galaxy S6 Edge Case, Spigen® [Hybridized Clarity] - jobbie :)

must stop my retail purchasing addiction!!

Great choice. Pretty much the same one I went for, it looks like the edge version uses rubberized buttons instead of metallic. Should still be nice.

Quite a few colour options, which did you go for?
Blue for me :p

I ordered gun metal grey and blue like yours, see which one I like most, namely because my edge was supposed to be black, but its actually a deep bluey colour so will see which I like more :)

whilst discussing the S6 Would you like a name change? :D :D

Nice, haha yea I think its time.

Bought an S6 off the ocuk phobe marketplace, have to say I'm enjoying it. The whole hoohah about the non-removable battery and sd card doesn't bother me. The screen is great quality, the camera is a great improvement over the note 4 (I had this stolen hence the s6 purchase).

I especially like the revamped fingerprint scanner, I used it on the note 4 and removed it within the day because of how annoying it was to try and unlock the phone. It works great now.

Only thing I'd have to say is get a case if you're after this phone. It's very slippy without one.

Is the camera that much better?

thanks, do i just buy it straight from there? even though its all in german? i can still use my uk credit card and get it delviered to the uk? also will it be fully genuine etc? sorry just never bought anything this way before

Use Google Chrome and set it to translate, buy from Amazon directly not a 3rd party seller and at the checkout (last page) you can buy in either Euros or GBPs :)

On battery life blame Google:

Battery

I experienced the same questionable battery life that many Galaxy S6 owners were reporting. This one isn’t Samsung’s fault.

I was getting only slightly better battery life than with my old Nexus 5, and I was about to put the S6 back in its box and ship it back to wherever it came from.

Before I did that, I tried one last thing. I switched off Google Now, Google's digital assistant, and my battery life skyrocketed to last me about 36 hours on a single charge with relatively decent usage, including music streaming, but without using Bluetooth or GPS. I charge it every night, but I usually have just under 50% battery left before I go to bed.

Google Now used to periodically activate my GPS antenna to gather my location and it forced my phone to process the information for the Google Now updates, and it destroyed my battery life. I somewhat miss Google Now, but not that much, and it’s a problem I’d likely experience with any smartphone.

I've tried the following

Aukey Premium 0.26mm
TECHGEAR GLASS Edition
JETech Premium

The first two are simply not big enough to fit the phone. While I know the edge is curved, it doesn't start to curve until after the screen finishes. These two literally stop dead on the edge of the screen itself meaning unless you're viewing them dead on they are annoying as hell.

The last one was better, but the edges didn't quite stick down. I initally thought it was a little too big, but having examined it only the last 1mm or so protruded over the beveled edge, where as at least 3mm wasn't sticking properly.

Annoying!

Anyone know of a decent plastic protector?

hi all...new s6 owner! without reading through every single page..would someone be so kind as to summarize the things to do to improve my currently shocking battery life?

Thanks!
