*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S6/Edge Thread ***

A qucik question about the camera. The iPhone 6 can record video at 240fps and the S6 can only manage 120fps. I know your can effectvly achieve 240fps by playing the footage back at 15fps but this obviously doesnt give the silky smooth motion of true 240fps.

I was wondering if anyone know the reason Samsung opted for 120fps? Is this somehow hardware limited or just software? Are there any third party apps which can achieve true 240?

Probably because they realised that it's actually not really very useful. While the iPhone makes for some amusing YouTube videos, it's simply not good enough to be used in any kind of professional or industrial applications, so why bother?

As far as I know it's hardware limited, but could be wrong.

Sounds like BS. Since when is slow-mo not useful?

I have the similar dilemna, unclebob123... I read people rave about it... but I haven't had any noticeable lagginess on the S6E, it's significantly faster response-wise than my ip6+ was and I thought that was quite quick for a phone. But... I'm all for extra speed if that really is the case.

Having taken a look at the screenshots of Nova... TouchWiz is much nicer to look at / more refined... the screenshots I've seen of Nova just look gross, crappy and ugly.

I'd be tempted to switz for speed improvements... but I'm not sure if I can be bothered with the ugliness of what I've seen so far.

You can change the look of Nova though, that's the joy of it.

The black version is blue enough for me! That looks good in their perfect photos but in real life it will just get annoying.

Hi, i was the same, touchwiz aint lag stutter free you will get it, which i didnt like , even re draw issue, and didnt like look at nova

but i gave it a go, its brilliant its super smooth and faster and can customize however you like your just looking at the stock look but once you start playing and getting used to it there is so much you can do with it

i think for samsung devices nova is a must for lag free experience

Nova Launcher was updated recently, it now has material design and the settings look a lot better, otherwise everything else is customisable.

Might be worth taking a look... I can always switch back to stock.

It does have a nice sheen to it... very pretty phone :)

I'm trying to install san andreas on to my S6 but it just keeps failing near the end

Also I got a free wireless charger but don't see the point in these if the actual charger has to be plugged in anyway
