*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S6/Edge Thread ***

I'm having whatsapp problems with my S6. Quite often messages just don't arrive until I open up whatsapp and when they do they show the time that I should have received them (an hour ago for example). I've checked all the obvious things like making sure restrict background data isn't on etc. I've already reinstalled whatsapp which didn't help and other apps seem to be fine.. Anybody else having similar problems?

Turn power saving mode off - after a while it stops notifications.

I have that off already
I have power saving on and never had an issue with notifications on, try clearing cache then re-installing.
Cleared cache & reinstalled already. No luck. Also made sure wifi stays connected during sleep etc as this happens both on wifi and 4g

hi all...new s6 owner! without reading through every single page..would someone be so kind as to summarize the things to do to improve my currently shocking battery life?

Thanks!

I debloated my device
http://www.rootjunky.com/debloater-tool-android/

- Freezed all the samsung apps (Push, Cloud, sHealth etc)
- Changed Locating method to Wi-fi and network
- Change app theme to dark.

I can't run down the battery during a normal work day. I get home with around 40% left and that with 2 hours of streaming Spotify over bluetooth.

I've now upped my screen to max active brightness, as I just aren't using enough battery.

But I also use Adaway and Greenify (requires root) which also help battery.

is this definitely worth purchasing over the s5? im currently not to keen on hearing about the battery life as i am quite a heavy user although the fast charging does seem quite good

The price on the German site seems pretty good at £470. Are there any drawbacks buying like this? I do like the s6 but will not get raped by the obscene prices over here at the moment. And hell will freeze over before I sign a £50 a month two year contract.

Only downside is you get a German fast adaptive plug but you can buy an adopter and or buy one from Samsung for not much.

Had a couple of cases arrive today...

Spigen Neo Hybrid
Spigen Resilient
Spigen Exact

I really don't like the Exact, it's a horrible cheapy plastic that's more slippery than the glass. But... it doesn't cover the buttons, which I like.

The Resilient is my favourite... because it's quite thin, has a decent feel and the buttons work quite well... although I would prefer un-covered buttons.

The Neo Hybrid is the best one to hold in your hands with the nicest feel... but the buttons feel sticky and are somewhat unpleasant to use.

I'll try the last two for about a week each and see what I prefer... otherwise might end up going back to the official flip case at this rate :(

Mum will be going from her S3 to a 32GB or maybe 64GB S6 :) Looking forward to seeing what it will be like.
