*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S6/Edge Thread ***

I wonder if that's an Edge issue or normal S6 as well.

I think it's just an edge issue.. Well ive only seen the issue relating to the edge. The quality control on the edge.. Is questionable.

It's a shame. Because it's a lovely handset. I'm just rather disappointed in Samsung.

I'll stick to the z3 compact for now until something else tempting comes along.

I've had a Nexus 4 since Dec 2012..... this phone is a silly awesome upgrade!

An obvious step up in every way.

For some reason the tap and restore didn't work though, it only restored my Google account, and that is easy to add anyway.

Handy little app to change what the touch buttons do. For some reason it also disables the key lighting.

Just got a update when I manually checked, over 600 meg downloading it now

Edit... It is 5.1.1.

Will it damage my battery if I just leave it on the wireless charger all the time I'm at home?

There's an interesting article about this which presumably applies to wireless charging too. Overcharge protection is pretty much the norm for any battery charger these days. If heat is being generated from a phone then they recommend taking the case off to let heat dissipate if being kept on a charger for long periods.

I'm assuming the S6 has a lithium-ion battery. If so, and I didn't know this before, they say it's best not to charge to 100%.

"The sweet spot for lithium-ion batteries is to keep them charged between 50 and 80 percent. This allows for the charged ions to continue to work and protect the life of your battery. Charging your device in short spurts throughout the day will give these ions just enough energy to keep them going. So frequent top-ups, rather than one daily charge up, is healthier for your battery. It’s not convenient, but that’s the optimal way to charge your smartphone if you want to ensure the longest life possible. Try to avoid going from 0 to 100 percent whenever possible, this will start to break down your battery and give your device a shorter lifespan."
