*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S6/Edge Thread ***

I'm absolutely loving this phone. Fingerprint reader is awesome. I've put all four finger prints in, two thumbs and two index fingers. Palm swipe for screenshots is great and easier than the power button/home button combo. And damn, this phone is fast! My screen on time so far is 4 hours with 45% battery left. That's quite good isn't it? It says estimated 6 hours usage left, and 13 hours on battery since last charge. Not using any power saving mode.

What apps are you using ?

You got one of them special S6 phones, congrats... no other S6 will be able to achieve this kind of battery life. Most wouldn't even get this kind of battery ife even if them were in airplane mode.

Well, I've only really been mucking around on it, finding out how things work. Done some bluetoothing of screenshots to my PC, bit of browsing, couple of phone calls, arranging icons, etc. It's fair to say I haven't done any heavy duty media like listening to music, youtube or gaming. No doubt that'll hit it hard. Standby time is very good. At one point I had the phone switched off for 2 or 3 days before i started using it properly. The battery level was 84% when I turned it off and 84% when I turned it on, so it clearly doesn't 'leak' power when not in use. At least, not yet while it's new!

What apps are you using ?

Everything is S6 default really, plus a few games and apps I transferred with samsung smart switch. I've also enabled 'Lookout' to monitor viruses.

Just puchased on Amazon, mine arrives tomorrow!

RIP my little Nexus 4.

Got a Spigen clear case as well, because why not.

What wireless chargers do people have?

Battery drain on my phone overnight is woeful. It drains about 15-17% over the course of 7 hours whilst doing nothing. Screen is off and I really don't have that much stuff syncing (just google inbox really).

If I turn off wifi and mobile data, the drain overnight drops all the way down to just 1%. Not sure what's going on.

Agree. I've had mine 5 days now, it's just awesome. I'm still learning new things. You have just informed me that I can have multiple fingerprints which I didn't know.

Most impressive for me though, is the screen quality. As I said earlier. after watching a 4K video, this is surely as good as it gets, or needs to get?

A CM rom for S6 is being worked on.
Will it be stable or release anytime soon is anyones guess.

Going to be a very long time before it becomes stable. They need to release the nightly first. Pretty crazy going over to CM with a S6, you will lose the good camera and finger print scanner for starters.

Glad you're enjoying yours too. Yeah, there's a maximum of 4 fingerprints, so I figured I might as well do thumb and index of each hand. I haven't tried the camera or shooting vids yet, I'm betting the 4K videos are big files.

Fast charging is really good. I don't mind the battery running down because it doesn't take long to top up. I'm always amazed when I look down and see 40 to 50% full and it seems like only a few minutes since I put it on charge.
What screen type is the best? I've left mine on adaptive.

I've spent most of today faffing around installing Helium on my PC, S2 and S6 and have managed to transfer everything to the S6 intact with game saves and app config data.

Not too sure about screen type, I haven't really looked into it, but mine is on adaptive.

The 4K video recording is limited to 5 minutes because it heats the phone up massively. But, do you really need more than 1080p? I dont think so.

Fast charging is great. Although I also have a wireless charger that I just sit my phone on. Keeps it nicely topped up.

Not sure if already mentioned but anyone else having issues with the camera focusing for the first 10 seconds after opening it?

Can occur randomly but extremely frustrating when you want a quick snap

I love doing 4k and watching it through my 4k TV, massive difference one of the reasons I got one.

Well, after receiving my replacement phone.. Im still not happy with the screen. Ugh. There's like a ridge under the middle. Goes straight down the whole screen. A bubble near the fingerprint scanner. And a couple more random bubbles.

As seen here on XDA.

Sending back for a full refund. Shame cause I really liked the phone. :( will wait for a nexus now I think.

I wonder if that's an Edge issue or normal S6 as well.

Damn I struggle to get 4 hours full stop.

Do you mean you can't get 4 hours with just normal tinkering, or are you doing a lot of media stuff? I don't think I'll get 4 hours screen time with media use. Today at 49% battery, it's only showing 1 hour 37 minutes. Yesterday I had nearly 4 hours at 49%.

Facebook, email, Internet stuff and calls is the bulk of my use.

Where do you have your screen lighting slider set to in the drop down tab? Mine is set in line with the end of the location/gps icon. Having it there or lower might help reduce battery usage.

For me, due to the lollipop bug I can only get about 3 hours on data. On WiFi, I get about 6 hours. Here's hoping Google pull their finger out with the mobile active radio issue.
