So what's the general consensus about 5.1.1? Does it improve battery?

To me the newest 5.1.1 definitely does improve it. Easily lasts the day now whereas before I was reaching for the charger before the day was out at times. Also the phone performs a lot better than it did before.

Same here for me since downloading the latest 230mb update. Seems to have really helped.

Hey guys, I just checked software updates and it's downloaded 650MB, it's 5.1.1.

I wasn't expecting anything tbh and haven't backed my phone up yet with helium. Shall I cancel the installation and backup first so I can restore my home screen icon setup?

Bought one from an ebay seller in Germany (they had a fairly high rating) and everything was totally fine. I paid about £420 I think.

I'm sure a lot of the time it's OK, but there are too many bad sellers and scammers on eBay. OK if you're only spending a few quid, not much risk. But £350 is a big chunk of cash to risk. Personally I'd rather pay £70 more and get it from a reputable retailer. Each to their own though.

Almost finished installing 5.1.1. Currently on 'Optimising app 31 of 97'. :) Should be interesting to see how the phone is after it's done. I think I'll be hard pushed to notice any particularly significant difference as it's been working well. Sometimes there's some lag on scrolling webpages, maybe that'l
improve.

edit: Well, I don't notice any difference so far. At least it hasn't made anything worse though.

Have random notification repeating and vibrating after 5.1.1 today. Any ideas where to clear?
Think it notifies continuously until you swipe away which is annoying!

Getting seriously annoyed with the phone trying to use wifi connections when I'm out and about. Despite telling it not to, it still does it.

I get no 3g or 4g on my phone without a reboot. If I am unfortunate enough to be near an o2 wifi hotspot, it attempts to connect and drops 3g and 4g. It's not till another reboot I regain a data connection.

Factory reset....still does it

5.1.1 doesn't tend to make any improvements so to speak that are noticeable (apart from the obvious like the Camara contrast slider) but it's the 230MB update in addition which has been pushed to devices which makes notable improvements in both Battery Life and outright Performance.
