*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S6/Edge Thread ***

I've said it already today on here but these pictures are making me excited about getting my S6 tomorrow, I can't wait to have a decent camera!

You'll love it! :) First thing to do when you get your shiny new S6 in your hands is find out if you have the Sony or ISO camera sensor. Tbh, you'll probably get the Samsung ISO as I think I'm correct in saying that the earliest batches of the phone had the Sony Sensor. But you never know!

Two ways to do it. Either install AIDA64 and go to the Devices tab and see what Camera ID says at the top. Or do this:

How to check your s6 camera sensor:

Dial *#34971539#

Look for ISP VER CHECK and click it.
Sony IMX sensor will be SONY_IMX240_FIMC_IS
Samsung ISO sensor is SLSI_S5K2P2_FIMC_IS

Mine has the ISO sensor. Better low light images.

Anybody else get another update on their S6 Edge? Mine pulled down a 200 odd MB file over the weekend. Kernel date is 12th August

I did. Not a clue what it was for. Maybe the stage fright fix?

It wasn't susceptible to stage fright from the checker I used. My icons have changed for messenger, phone and a couple of other things as well, other than that typical release notes that tell you nothing.

Playing around with an edge plus today, nice phone but the "edge" thing really seems pointless. Just seems like they designed it then struggled to shoehorn in a reason for it being there.

Also im guessing those side areas are virtually impossible to stick a screen protector onto?

Which is the better sensor?

Not sure I'll want to find out as I'll no doubt end up disappointed :p
Both good just slight differences.

Its mostly for show :D

Edge+ Official inboxing:

Nice :D

Frustrated by the memory management, most of the time it doesn't affect me but it's just the odd occasion when I'll check chrome quickly before jumping back into a game or app and it's annoying when they close.

There doesn't seem to be any logical reason behind why it happens, I can usually switch between large games with no problem then try it with a small app and browser and they close, it's so sad Samsung haven't fixed this yet.

Strange they haven't fixed it yet, even with the edge+.
My S6 with Voda firmware didnt have the problem, they somehow patched it. I could open so many apps and they would all stay in memory.
But with my Edge on o2 firmware I can only open 4 or 5 before it closes them.

Hopefully Marshmallow fixes this.

Only get phone/cam FW VER check

Edit: With Aida: Sony IMX240_FIMC_IS. Is the S6 Edge plus coming with a Samsung Iso? Never mind, Note 5 thread answered that question.

Subtle differences between the two as both are excellent with the Sony sensor having a noticeable edge on night time HDR and Macro in my opinion only. Post processing would negate any differences: http://www.sammobile.com/2015/05/05...-camera-sensors-on-the-galaxy-s6-and-s6-edge/

Was considering a change from my 930 to the edge plus, just not really sure if there's much point besides it being a new phone to fart about with.

Where can I see detailed battery information? On my Nexus I could just pull down the notification tray and press the battery icon but on this I cannot find it anywhere.

Open settings and scroll down to battery, then click usage.

You can add it to the quick launch in the settings menu. Click edit on the quick settings screen and add it :)

I can't find it :(

This is everything in my settings: http://imgur.com/a/SypKz

If I go into 'About device' there is some battery information in there but none of it is clickable. I'm so confused. On my Nexus 5 there is a 'Battery' option in the main settings menu.

The only thing I can think is that I've used a package disabler app to get rid of some bloatware, but I've just double checked and I have disabled anything that would be related to the battery information.
