*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S6/Edge Thread ***

I see sammobile has the french XEF (unbranded) for the S6.
Anyone who's SIM free tried flashing it (using ODIN). I think I had an XEF installed before and it worked fine.

Anyone know of any other sources for this firmware? (sammobile is extremely slow)

one of the Vodafone ones? is your phone sim free?
afaik it will work fine, just don't want the annoying Vodafone startup screen, so will wait for Open one to appear.

it does feel a lot snappier, the fingerprint readers now back to what it was in the beginning i.e. nearly instant.

Not played with the extra edge functionality yet.

I like the google now on tap, but could be one of them things that die off after a few weeks and you stop using it.

been stuck at work all day so not really had chance to play yet. But defiantly snappier.

Yep sim free I was one of the original amazon.de buyers :)
No vodafone branding anywhere just looks like the generic firmware that Samsung have released.

Was a bit worried to begin with as the Odin software took a while, but alls good.

I got the G925FX one and it took a good few hours, I just left it going on my server box.

The UK unbranded version (BTU) hasn't been released yet.
I don't think you do lose all your settings - I have flashed between XEF and BTU before and I don't think I lost anything.
 
so flashed vodafone MM on my O2 S6, all seems ok. not impressed by speed, but was dirty flash so expected. hope UK Open will be up soon, will reflash and wipe. Should be good then.
all settings intact from LP.

I don't have this. Do you mean the status bar that shows the battery etc?

Is it possible you're using a theme. Or maybe a white wallpaper (might be hard to see the white icons)
 
Installed the XEF marshmallow version. Did a cache wipe after (this doesn't delete anything on your phone) although this might actually be done as part of the upgrade process.
Anyway, everything is tickety boo. Phone is a bit smoother and faster (fingerprint scan is definitely quicker).
It's funny how you wait in anticipation for the new android version and once you get it, it's a bit of an anticlimax. It hasn't rocked your world in the way you thought it would (what the heck was I expecting?!??)
